Dixie needs a new name! Help!

Ok so let me explain a few things before I lose the nerve to do this.
I have been working on my book for a good three years now and I’m not close to half way yet.
I’m in highschool and it has been hard for me to find the mind set and place to write more than 100 or more in a single sitting.
I’m VERY ADHD…on meds. So I will get super focused sometimes and came be really productive but if I get distracted in between or interrupted it talks a long time for me to get in my tunnel focus again. [name]Hence[/name] the book Isn’t finished.
I’m calling this a mid book naming crises.

Nuf said on that, now about [name]Dixie[/name] and a little bit about her…
[name]Dixie[/name] is quiet, sweet, gentle, shy, a deep thinker, kind, selfless, and protective of things she loves.
She is quite similar to [name]Jane[/name] [name]Bennet[/name] in Pride and Prejudice.
[name]Dixie[/name] lives in the future…the year 5000 to be exact.

She is one MC out of Four teens that have to save their world…blah, blah ,blah. All you need to know for that…It’s a secret.
My issue with [name]Dixie[/name]'s name is that it sticks out too much from the others and a boy in the four teens is named, [name]Dion[/name] which clashes too much and I don’t want to confuse the reader with the similarity in their names.

My ideas for her new name are something like:

[name]Cora[/name] - Really like this one
[name]Elaine[/name] -
[name]Inga[/name] - or [name]Ingrid[/name]
[name]Sally[/name] -
[name]Mae[/name] - or [name]May[/name]
[name]Mabel[/name] -
[name]Britta[/name] -
[name]Emmy[/name] -
I’d love to hear what you Berries think of my ideas and many new suggestions
Thank you soo much

What are the other characters names? Without knowing any of that, I love [name]Cora[/name].

If it’s set in the year 5000, I think [name]Dixie[/name] and [name]Dion[/name] are the sort of names you want to go for if you’re sticking with existing names, that is to say, not futuristic made up by you sort of names. They’re pretty uncommon and have a ‘hippy’ sort of feel to them. Comparatively, most of your other names sound more present day. I like [name]Inga[/name] best - it’s got a familiar sound, easy to read, is close to a more familiar name of [name]Ingrid[/name] but also sounds perfectly plausible for a girl 3000 years in the future. The only other one of your names that sounds like it vaguely fits that is [name]Britta[/name], but that’s also the name of a water filter so I wouldn’t use it.

What are the names of your other main characters?

[name]Elaine[/name] and Igna sound best

A lot of the names you have on your list sound either old-fashioned or current-day. Why not go with [name]Beatrix[/name], which ties in the “ix” sound, but sounds different from [name]Dion[/name]?

I actually like [name]Cora[/name].

It’s simple and unassuming in a [name]Jane[/name] [name]Bennett[/name] sort of way, yet the “core” of it has a strong deep feel like someone who would push through challenges.

The others in your list either feel a bit too soft ([name]Mae[/name]) or too plain ([name]Sally[/name])

I like the idea of a name with x still, futuristic…
[name]Beatrix[/name] is good, and could be called [name]Bee[/name] or [name]Bea[/name], maybe [name]Trixie[/name] ([name]Beatrix[/name] called [name]Trixie[/name] is actually the name of my main character in my current book, so I’m a bit reluctant with that! Plus [name]Trixie[/name] sounds a bit spunkier and [name]Bea[/name] a bit shyer)
Another with a softer sound is [name]Lux[/name], which I love. [name]Roxana[/name] is also nice.
You could use the similar [name]Pixie[/name], which sounds the same but takes away the similarity from [name]Dion[/name]. That’s probably my favorite idea.

[name]Cora[/name] is really cool!

A few more:

[name]Trixi[/name]
[name]Thalia[/name]
[name]Thisbe[/name]
Trianna

not sure why all the Ts, just sorta happened…

[name]Sally[/name] as a nickname for:

Sallana
Salline
Salviene

Thank you guys soo much!
I do really like [name]Cora[/name].
But I was wondering what you’d suggest for a middle name?

Thanks again,

how about [name]Cora[/name] [name]Joan[/name], or [name]Cora[/name] [name]Marie[/name]?

[name]Cora[/name] [name]Dalia[/name], [name]Cora[/name] Lynnn (love that one), [name]Cora[/name] [name]Fleur[/name] (Cool, modern, flower-y, but kinda like a last name

What about [name]Cora[/name] [name]Penelope[/name]?

I like [name]Cora[/name] [name]Marie[/name]!

I like [name]Cora[/name] [name]Marie[/name] so long as it’s muh-RE, not [name]Mary[/name].

[name]Cora[/name] [name]Maribel[/name]
[name]Cora[/name] [name]Tansy[/name]
[name]Cora[/name] [name]June[/name]
[name]Cora[/name] [name]Sylvie[/name]
[name]Cora[/name] [name]Gwen[/name]

[name]Cora[/name] Syvie is a name that large, older women who pinch cheeks and pile gray hair on top of their heads like there’s no tomorrow would call “darling” and “precious”. You know, the little-cherub, perfect-granddaughter type. With curly little ringlets like Shirley Temple and dimples to match.
