[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! Hypothetically, if I were to name one of my children [name_f]Andrine[/name_f] and another [name_f]Aveline[/name_f], would you consider them too similar? Does it depend on the pronunciation of the names? I would probably pronounce [name_f]Andrine[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f]-dreen. Please let me know if that name has other pronunciations.
I’m not completely sure on how I would pronounce [name_f]Aveline[/name_f]. Assuming I pronounce [name_f]Andrine[/name_f] the way I said earlier, what do you think would be the best pronunciation of [name_f]Aveline[/name_f] so that the two names aren’t too similar? I made a poll with possible pronunciations as well as other options.
I think it’s definitely too close. [name_f]Aveline[/name_f] is typically pronounced [name_m]Ah[/name_m]-vuh-leen, so the two names start and end the same but with a different middle sound - definitely difficult to hear the distinction in.
Alternatives to [name_f]Aveline[/name_f]:
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]
[name_f]Adelyn[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
[name_f]Avila[/name_f]
[name_f]Adelina[/name_f]
Avelina (not sure if it’s actually a name, but it changes the ending sound and adds a syllable)
