Do any of these flow well with Ernest Ardashir?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all,

[name_m]Long[/name_m] time reader, first time poster.

We’re having a little boy in [name_u]March[/name_u] and we are close to deciding names. I like our choices, but they don’t seem to have the same lyrical quality as our first son’s name (2 syllable first name, 3 syllable middle name, etc).

Our surname is also one syllable and starts with a W, ends in H.

Which of the following flows and goes with [name_m]Ernest[/name_m] Ardashir (we call our first son by a diminutive of his Iranian middle name, Ardie):

  • [name_m]Inigo[/name_m] Kasra
  • Erso Kasra
  • Falco Kasra
  • [name_u]Arden[/name_u] Kasra
  • [name_u]Auden[/name_u] Kasra (although my husband’s British accent when pronouncing this name, “Aw-den”, almost rules it out for me!)

Kasra is pronounced with a soft ‘S’ and it’s pronounced with more of a H on the end, like Kas-RAH, emphasis on second syllable. And we’ll be calling this son by his Iranian middle name too.

We keep getting drawn to short names–can two short names work together? And are any of the above it?

[name_u]Arden[/name_u] I think is perfect for your sibling set

[name_m]Inigo[/name_m] Kasra works best to me, but I think [name_u]Arden[/name_u] is nice too

[name_u]Arden[/name_u] or [name_u]Auden[/name_u]

[name_u]Love[/name_u] Falco, but not with Kasra—the repeated k/c sounds are a bit harsh!

I have to agree that [name_u]Arden[/name_u] seems like a great fit. (I’d say [name_u]Auden[/name_u] as well except for your reservation.)

[name_u]Arden[/name_u] or [name_u]Auden[/name_u] for me.

Thanks for your advice all! it seems I was right to be hesitant.

I do love [name_u]Auden[/name_u] and [name_u]Arden[/name_u].

But [name_u]Arden[/name_u] seems too close to what we call my first son, Ardie, and I wonder if in time that will end up being confusing if our second son decides to go by his first name when he’s older…

Maybe I’m being too sensitive to how my husband pronounces [name_u]Auden[/name_u]. Or maybe I can get him elocution classes-haha.
