We have a daughter name [name]Jane[/name], and another daughter due in 1 month. We are contemplating a few names. We love [name]Anne[/name] but never have given it much consideration, b/c we thought it sounded too much like [name]Jane[/name].
Any thoughts out there? Is a [name]Jane[/name] and [name]Anne[/name] a good sibset or not?
I think they sound good together. I personally like names that tend to be on the “matchy” side. A lot of people on here don’t. As you can see from my signature, I like “c” names.
I love the sibset [name]Jane[/name] and [name]Anne[/name]. I think it’s a wonderful choice. Plus the nn [name]Annie[/name] is very cute for a young girl.
I think these names go great together and because the a sound is different they do not sound the same to me. I had to think about it for a second to hear why you would say that. I think [name]Anne[/name] is a great choice, Classic but not over popular.
I know a little [name]Jane[/name]-[name]Anne[/name], and I think they sound great together. [name]Jane[/name] and [name]Anne[/name] definitely aren’t too close for siblings
I like it. [name]Jane[/name] and [name]Anna[/name] is another option if you are worried about them sounding similar. I love [name]Jane[/name] and [name]Annie[/name].
I can see your concern, but I think [name]Jane[/name] and [name]Anne[/name] are fine! Especially if [name]Anne[/name] goes by [name]Annie[/name], or [name]Jane[/name] goes by [name]Janie[/name]. I think if one has the nn to differentiate, it makes them even more usable. [name]Jane[/name] and [name]Annie[/name] would be really cute. I just wouldn’t do [name]Janie[/name] and [name]Annie[/name]–those are way too matchy together, imo! I agree [name]Jane[/name] and [name]Anna[/name] is a great alternative if you feel that they’re just too close.
I think it’s great! The one thing to consider is if you are having more children and they are girls, you have set up a theme of classic (probably) - but I don’t think you’ve set up a theme of one-syllable or ends-in-n or even necessarily short, because these names have such history.
" [name]Anne[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] and [name]Jane[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]" — These are stunningly beautiful, my mouth is watering! I [name]LOVE[/name] classics!
I love [name]Anne[/name] [name]Victoria[/name], too…gorgeous. We can’t use [name]Victoria[/name], however, b/c someone in our family is already named [name]Victoria[/name].
We were thinking [name]Anne[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] to go w/ [name]Jane[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]. We’ll have all of the [name]Tudor[/name] wives if we do that!
I don’t think they sound too similar, but you might want to break up the single-syllable pattern by calling her [name]Anna[/name] instead. Or, [name]Annie[/name] is a cute nickname if you want to put [name]Anne[/name] in the birth cert.
Also, if you’re wanting [name]Catherine[/name] in the middle spot, I would really recommend [name]Anna[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] instead. I like the flow better.
But, it’s just my opinion. I’m sure whatever you choose is lovely xx
