[name_m]Just[/name_m] planning ahead! [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] is my number one name for a daughter, as it’s my grandmother’s name, and she is particularly special to me. In Greek culture, it’s traditional to name your daughter after your mom. [name_f]My[/name_f] mom is [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]. For a while, I really hated [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and told my mom I wouldn’t use it, but now I’m coming around to it and the tradition. So… would [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] be too close because they both end in the long -e sound? [name_u]Or[/name_u] should I save it for the middle position? Would love to hear your thoughts. [name_f]My[/name_f] BF’s only constraints is that the name works in [name_f]English[/name_f]
Edit- I’m thinking combo with Daphne in the middle would be Maria Daphne.
The fact that they both end in the long ee sound seems more like something that ties the two names together rather than something that makes them too similar, since all the surrounding letters and sounds are very different. They go well together stylistically. I don’t think you’d have any problems!
