Do these names work together? Myla and Emilia

Our 6yo daughter is called [name_f]Myla[/name_f] and the only name we really agree on for our next baby girl is [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] (nickname [name_f]Emmie[/name_f]). Are these two names too similar?! Our daughters name can get mispronounced as Mee-la but is said [name_f]My[/name_f]-la.

Our son is called [name_u]Arlo[/name_u]. Other names we both like are [name_f]Thea[/name_f], [name_f]Elise[/name_f], [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], [name_f]Lottie[/name_f]. Open to more suggestions!

Please help me name our baby! Thank you.

Myla and [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] are a bit close for me

Thea and [name_f]Elise[/name_f] are great though.

Myla and [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] are just a little close for my liking, sadly. Not in a dealbreaker kind of way, but Iā€™d probably avoid it if I couldā€“unless youā€™re planning to exclusively call her [name_f]Emmie[/name_f], in which case I actually think it works. If not, would you consider another ā€œ[name_f]Em[/name_f]ā€ name with the nickname [name_f]Emmie[/name_f]? [name_u]Emery[/name_u], [name_f]Emily[/name_f], [name_f]Emma[/name_f], @Greyblueā€™s [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], etc.? Or even just [name_f]Emmie[/name_f]/Emmy/Emme by itself? I do love [name_f]Thea[/name_f] from your list, and Iā€™m also a big fan of [name_f]Elise[/name_f]! If not [name_f]Thea[/name_f], I actually think just-[name_f]Emme[/name_f] might be my favorite option for you. Myl@, Arl0 and [name_f]Emme[/name_f] sound perfect together, imo! Based on your list, I would also suggest:

Eloise/Elodie (nn [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Lola[/name_f], etc.)
[name_f]Brynn[/name_f]
[name_u]Finley[/name_u]
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] (nn [name_u]Ollie[/name_u], [name_f]Liv[/name_f], [name_f]Vivi[/name_f], etc.)
[name_f]Livia[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Liv[/name_f], [name_f]Vivi[/name_f], etc.)
[name_f]Edie[/name_f]
[name_f]Noelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Colette[/name_f] (nn [name_u]Coco[/name_u], [name_f]Lettie[/name_f], [name_f]Etta[/name_f], etc.)
[name_f]Althea[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Thea[/name_f], [name_u]Allie[/name_u], etc.)
[name_f]Ada[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Cece[/name_f], [name_f]Celia[/name_f], [name_f]Lia[/name_f], etc.)
[name_u]Wynn[/name_u] (nn [name_f]Winnie[/name_f])
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Annalise[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Etta[/name_f]
[name_u]Kit[/name_u]
[name_f]Cecily[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Cece[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f], etc.)
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Lilly[/name_f], [name_f]Lia[/name_f], etc.)
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Addy[/name_f], [name_f]Della[/name_f], [name_f]Lina[/name_f], etc.)

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

I do think that [name_f]Myla[/name_f] & [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] are too close. [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] is lovely though. If you would call [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Emmie[/name_f] anyway, what about another ā€˜[name_f]Em[/name_f]ā€™ name? I think that [name_f]Myla[/name_f] & [name_f]Emma[/name_f] or [name_f]Myla[/name_f] & [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] work just fine. Both pretty too. [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] is a bit more unique.

I love [name_f]Thea[/name_f] from your list. Itā€™s short & spunky like [name_f]Myla[/name_f] & [name_u]Arlo[/name_u], but also old fashioned & feminine w/out being frilly. [name_f]Elise[/name_f] is fine, but not super exciting. [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] is too masculine for my tastes. And [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] is adorable, but maybe kind of nick-namey. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] would be sweet. Or possibly [name_f]Loretta[/name_f] if [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is too popular for you.

Thank you everyone for your replies! I thought they were too close but hoped others didnā€™t agree :joy: will take it off our list.

I love the name [name_f]Emmie[/name_f], but there is one in our family (who we only see every 1-2 years so not a big deal)ā€¦but hoping to find a name that we can nickname to [name_f]Emmie[/name_f]. I love [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] but hubby thinks itā€™s too masculine. Some great ideas thanks!

[name_f]Thea[/name_f] is his favourite, and I really like it too I just felt like we needed to stay away from a 4 letter name due to [name_f]Myla[/name_f] and [name_u]Arlo[/name_u]. We do like [name_f]Alethea[/name_f], With options to nickname to [name_f]Thea[/name_f] or [name_u]Allie[/name_u] :heartpulse:

Thanks for your help!

How about, if you donā€™t already have a MN set, using [name_f]Thea[/name_f] in the middle spot? For FNs, here are some options all with the NN [name_f]Emma[/name_f]:

Ember
[name_f]Emogen[/name_f]
[name_u]Emery[/name_u]
[name_u]Emory[/name_u]
[name_f]Emylou[/name_f]

I also really like [name_f]Emma[/name_f] (as a FN) with [name_f]Myla[/name_f] and [name_u]Arlo[/name_u].
