[name_u]Owen[/name_u] and [name_u]Evan[/name_u]? Good sibset or too similiar?
I think [name_u]Owen[/name_u] and [name_u]Evan[/name_u] make a good sibling set. I have nothing against siblings sharing sounds, endings, beginnings. [name_u]Owen[/name_u] and [name_u]Evan[/name_u] are clearly two different names, it does not sound like the same name is being called twice when they are said out loud. I personally would avoid patterns. I do not consider anything a pattern until there are three or more. I would also avoid names that actually sound alike, [name_u]Owen[/name_u] and [name_m]Bowen[/name_m].
I actually think [name_u]Owen[/name_u] and [name_u]Evan[/name_u] sound good together! They’re not to matchy but have the same style.
I know two brothers named [name_u]Owen[/name_u] and [name_u]Evan[/name_u].
As they are both two syllable Welsh names, they sound nice together.
There is also a similarity that could bother someone or not. I think they are too similar only if you find them too similar.
[name_u]Leslie[/name_u]
I like them together! I don’t think they’re too similar; just enough to complement each other well. They make a good sibset, [name_f]IMO[/name_f].
Personally, I think they are too similar. I like both names, but I wouldn’t use them together. They have similar roots and are sometimes perceived as different versions of the same name–[name_m]John[/name_m], [name_u]Owen[/name_u], [name_m]Euan[/name_m], [name_m]Ewan[/name_m], [name_u]Evan[/name_u], [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m], [name_m]Even[/name_m], [name_u]Aoibheann[/name_u], [name_m]Eoin[/name_m]…
I would prefer to hear [name_u]Evan[/name_u] and [name_u]Owen[/name_u], for some reason!
Thanks for everyone’s input and advice. Deciding between [name_u]Max[/name_u] and [name_u]Evan[/name_u], but wasn’t sure if [name_u]Evan[/name_u] and [name_u]Owen[/name_u] were too matchy. [name_u]Max[/name_u] and [name_u]Evan[/name_u] are such different names but I like them both. Not sure what to pick!!
For me, personally, they are a little too similar, but that’s just a personal preference. I don’t think most people would hear them and think oh those are way to matchy for siblings. If it works for you, do it!
