I love [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]! You should stick with it. I’ve never ment any Ivys either, so I think the popularity must be more specific to certain areas.
I think 147 means that it’s still in the safe category, it’s still on the good side of the popularity rankings. Good as in: it means you’ve hit the jackpot in terms of a name with some kind of general appeal, but people aren’t going to roll their eyes and yawn when reading the birth announcement. I think it fits with the lovely names of your other daughters, established yet still refreshing!
It’s not very popular
I’ve never met an [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]. I did just get through binging on Gossip Girl, so the character of [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] Dickens is fresh in my mind. Personally, I like [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] WAYYYYYYYY more than [name_f]Ivy[/name_f].
I’ve never met an Ivy.
I think Ivy Clementine is a darling name. Ivy Cecelia would be my second choice.
Well, I live in [name_f]England[/name_f] and it’s not very popular over here! When I hear the name [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] I think of the plant so, that’s a turn off for me. But, if you love it then go for it.
I know more Poppys than Ivys. I also think [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] would age better.
In the state of Washington there were 65 babies named [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] last year, same as [name_f]Luna[/name_f] and [name_f]Olive[/name_f].
It’s definitely not dramatically popular, but neither is it unknown.
I doubt she’ll meet many other [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]'s. It’s a lovely name that fits nicely in your set.
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f] is also very pretty, and I’ll love for it to gain more use in the US!
I love [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]
I have never met an [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] either. I don’t think it’s overly popular at all but it is a beautiful name. I prefer it over [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] (althought I like it as well).
I like the MNs [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] & [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f].
I know one [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] who is about 4. I agree with pp, check the popularity list for your state. That will really be helpful in seeing if your child will be one of 5 in her class.
I think [name_f]Willa[/name_f], [name_f]Maxine[/name_f] & [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] make an adorable sibset! [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] is a gorgeous combo.
Yes, I consider the name [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] popular. It’s a pretty common name, plus it’s very popular at the moment (it’s in the top 200’s and over 2,000 girls were given the name last year). I’ve met plenty of [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]'s (I’ve lived in 4 different states), and I’ve met two already this year alone. One was about 3 and the other is college age. I’ve encountered the name a lot, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that you would.
I really do like [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] though! [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] is my favorite pairing, followed by [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]. I love [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] too! [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is sooo pretty! Also I think the name [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] would age fine. One of my mom’s closest friends is named [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]. She’s almost 50 and the name works just fine for her.
I’ve only ever met one [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]. It’s not popular. [name_f]Ava[/name_f] is popular. I know 5.
I love [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] also. It’s one of my top 2 girl names. I am also nervous of it’s high ranking (I usually like to be in the 500’s). So I am considering using it as a middle name instead. However I have never met or known of an [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]. (I’m in [name_f]Canada[/name_f].)
The thing about names is you can’t predict! I picked a name in the 500’s for my first born and it skyrocked after she was born. You can pick a unique name and still have it come out of nowhere on the charts. Choose a name you love!
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] is gorgeous!
I’ve only met one [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] my entire life, and she is 4. I don’t think it’s super popular at all.
Thanks for weighing in everyone. I so appreciate these responses.
DH and I talked and I think if we go with [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], we will choose [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] as a middle name.
I’ve already posted a thread on here asking for any suggestions, but they are welcome here! Looking for that PERFECT name for baby girl #3. Preferably something that doesn’t end in A or start with W/M.
I took [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] off our list for our last daughter because here in Australia it is very popular. But oh I love it so much. I think [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] would be possibly the most beautiful name ever.
I also have never met someone named [name_f]Ivy[/name_f].
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] is gorgeous and not too popular.
I also love [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] but not really into [name_f]Poppy[/name_f].
My name combo picks are: [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f].
Cheers
it is getting more popular, but I dont think it will be so popular that it will be an issue. And it goes lovely with your daughters names!
