If so how many and where do you live (generally speaking)? I think I might be getting my “loves surnames for girls” husband to consider the name [name_f]Evie[/name_f] (as a nn for something), but I’m worried about popularity with [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] being # 27 last year. I don’t think we’d use [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], and he’s not really into [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] (which was my original suggestion), but I think we would use [name_f]Evie[/name_f] regardless of which [name_f]Eve[/name_f]-ish name we used. I’ve never met an [name_f]Evie[/name_f] before. I know two older Evelyns, but they just go by [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]. I live in the American South.
Edited to add: Include pronunciation of Evie on the person(s) in question.
Yep, I know an [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] who calls herself [name_f]Evie[/name_f]. She is actually quite pretty. I am not going to tell where I live, but my confirmation of a living, breathing [name_f]Evie[/name_f] is 100% authentic. (: Perhaps instead of [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] you could use [name_u]Everett[/name_u] or [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f].
I have only ever met one [name_f]Evie[/name_f]. I work w/ her. She’s very nice, down to earth. Probably in her 50s? Not sure but think it’s short for [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] but only just goes by [name_f]Evie[/name_f]. I’ve never heard anyone name their baby recently [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] or [name_f]Evie[/name_f]…I think [name_f]Evie[/name_f] is a super cute name for a little girl! [name_f]Love[/name_f] it actually.
I know an [name_f]Evie[/name_f]! I’m not sure of her full name, but she’s the most adorable little thing- she’s around five or six. She lives in the American northeast
I know three - a baby born two weeks ago named [name_f]Evie[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u], a two-year-old named [name_f]Eva[/name_f] (not sure of middle name) and a three-year-old named [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_f]Nancy[/name_f]. The last two both go by the nickname [name_f]Evie[/name_f]. I’m in Australia and they’re all becoming very popular names - [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] and [name_f]Evie[/name_f].
I’m from the American midwest, and my neighbor named her 2-year-old daughter [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], with the nickname [name_f]Evie[/name_f]. It’s an adorable name
I love [name_f]Evie[/name_f]! [name_f]Eva[/name_f] nn [name_f]Evie[/name_f] is on my own list. I don’t know anyone who goes by [name_f]Evie[/name_f], but there is an [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] in my church (I believe she’s older than my mom, though, haha), and I remember coming across an adorable little girl (six-ish?) at the job I held before the job I have now, and her name was [name_f]Eva[/name_f] (she’s actually why I fell in love with [name_f]Eva[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]–she was just the most adorable thing!).
I would love to meet many more Evas (or Evies). I think it’s a great name. In my area, it’s not overdone, at least. Although I remember at the same job I mentioned earlier, we did a fundraiser for something (CHOP, if you are familiar, or some organization to help kids graduate high school, or an organization that fed starving children in [name_f]Africa[/name_f]…), and I remember reading the names on the wall, and there were two little girls that came through, in the matter of about a day, whose names were both [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]. I’m not sure what that means, and I never saw them or anything, but apparently they exist in the area (or drove through). I’ve never met a [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] in real life, though.
[name_m]Ah[/name_m], and as for location (what, Cair Paravel isn’t good enough for you? :)), let’s just say I’m wedged between NYC, DC, Chicago, and the Atlantic.
I’m not sure you’ll like this suggestion but:
My cousin is named Paraskeve ([name_m]PAR[/name_m]-uh-skev-ee), and she goes by [name_f]Evie[/name_f] (as in eh-vee, not eve-ee). That name is too out there for most people, including myself. I like [name_f]Eva[/name_f] nn [name_f]Evie[/name_f], although I’ve never met anyone nicknamed [name_f]Evie[/name_f] as in [name_f]Eve[/name_f]-ee. I also like [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] with the nn [name_f]Evie[/name_f].
I live in the mid-Atlantic section of the United States, and I’ve met a couple [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]'s. But not too many that I’m like “[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is so popular, its the new [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]”.
I’m sorry if I wasn’t very helpful!
I know two little Evelyns, both about 2 years old. [name_f]One[/name_f] goes by [name_f]Evie[/name_f], not sure about the other. This is despite the fact that I don’t know all that many 2 year olds. (no children yet)
Really love the name [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]. I would use nn [name_f]Neve[/name_f].
I know one woman named [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] who is called [name_f]Evie[/name_f] (Eh-vee) and an [name_f]Eve[/name_f] who was in school with my daughter who was called [name_f]Evie[/name_f] (Ee-vee) until high school. I prefer the EE-vee pronunciation.
Two. [name_f]One[/name_f] is named [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and goes by [name_f]Evie[/name_f] sometimes. She is 4. The other is about 2 and her given name is [name_f]Evie[/name_f].
Also from the American south.
[name_m]Ontario[/name_m]. I know the sweetest eight year old named [name_f]Evie[/name_f] (EV-ee). I always assumed it would be spelled like that, but I asked her and she said It was spelled [name_f]Eve[/name_f]. Not sure what that’s about… [name_f]Eve[/name_f] to me is EEV.
