[name]One[/name] of my pet peeves is boys names on girls. I like [name]Sawyer[/name] on a boy. [name]Grace[/name] is lovely. [name]How[/name] about [name]Grace[/name] [name]Sawyer[/name]?
It’s ok for a boy, but I’m not a fan of it for a girl.
sawyer on a girl is awful. way to masculine. it means woodsman/ lumberjack. all i think of is paul bunyon.
I’m actually kind of surprised at all of the negative reactions to a girl [name]Sawyer[/name]. I realize that a lot of people probably consider it a boy’s name ([name]Tom[/name] [name]Sawyer[/name], the character from Lost), but I think it’s a name that is soft and “pretty” enough to be used for a girl. It is a little bit tomboy-ish, but I think it’s adorable.
I like the sound of [name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Grace[/name], but agree that [name]Grace[/name] seems a little bit overused.
With [name]Sawyer[/name], a unisex name, I’d definitely go with a feminine middle.
What about:
[name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Cate[/name]
[name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Mae[/name]
[name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Dawn[/name]
[name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Page[/name]
I work for a pediatrician. We have many new baby Sawyers coming in, but it’s typically a one to five ratio with girls being the winner. I think it’s an adorable name for a little girl! But I tend to not like the whole ‘boy name’ vs. ‘girl name’ thing. My niece is named [name]Austyn[/name]. So if you love [name]Sawyer[/name], go.for.it!
[name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is an amazing and perfect name for a little girl, I love it to pieces, it is perfect and amazing, it’s got lovely soft sounds without being frilly, I love it, it’s amazing, it doesn’t look one tenth as nice on a boy as it does on a girl, I love it, you and your husband are smart, clever people for coming up with such a lovely and perfect name, I love it.
I love [name]Sawyer[/name], but only for a boy.
I love it! [name]Sawyer[/name] on a girl is adorable and refreshing.
The beauty of this name combination is that it’s that if little [name]Sawyer[/name] grows up and feels it’s too masculine she can go by her middle name. With that in mind I’d suggest being sure her middle name is something you’d be proud of her potentially using as her first name.
If you guys like it you’re well within your power to apply it to your baby girl.
There will always be arguments for and against, we all come from different experiences.
All the best!
I really like it! [name]Sawyer[/name] always struck me as very unisex - could work on boy or girl!
Sorry - Not a fan of surnames being used as first names for girls - it feels tired and dated (i.e. [name]Taylor[/name], [name]Emerson[/name], [name]Madison[/name], etc.)
[name]Sawyer[/name] is all boy to me as well. What about [name]Sailor[/name] [name]Grace[/name]???
I only like this name for a boy. But for a boy, I really love it.
I don’t see anything feminine about [name]Sawyer[/name]. It’s not a “soft” name my any means, it actually sound kind of harsh to me.
While there certainly may be people who claim to know more females than males, in regards to the population as a whole, that simply isn’t the case. For every [name]ONE[/name] girl born with the name, there are FIVE boys born.
For a girl? No
For a boy? Yes
I think it’s highly unattractive for a girl. It’s masculine to me.
Ooh, [name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is so pretty! I love that both names have personal meaning to you as well. [name]Sawyer[/name] to me is a very unisex name. It is not a traditional masculine name like [name]James[/name] or [name]William[/name], just a name often used for boys but equally wearable on a girl. It has a nice, soft sound to it. Really beautiful choice!
I love it for a boy, absolutely loathe it for a girl. This name is all masculine.
Honestly I don’t care for the name at all… on a boy or a girl, especially not on a girl… just is not my cup of tea, so to say.
I agree with most of the other posters - [name]Sawyer[/name] is an all-boy name for me! [name]Grace[/name] makes anything sound feminine, but I get a little tired of seeing it in the middle name spot. I think [name]Sawyer[/name] would be better used for a boy.
