Do you like this name on a boy?

I’m considering the name Carey/Cary for a boy. I think it was originally a male’s name at one point, before being taken over by females with the [name_f]Carrie[/name_f] spelling.
Anyone have any information about this and what do you think about the name? Too feminine or should it be brought back as a boy’s name?

I like it, especially if spelled [name_u]Cary[/name_u].

I love [name_u]Cary[/name_u] [name_m]Grant[/name_m] so YES to this name. I think it can be brought back as a boy’s name for sure.

I actually grew up with a kid named [name_u]Carey[/name_u] a few years older than me (I’m 30 now). He wore it well, and it makes me think of a handsome young man who has some talent in the arts.

I went to primary school with a boy named [name_u]Carey[/name_u]. It’s not my personal taste, but I do like it for a boy.

[name_u]Cary[/name_u] is a unisex name to me like [name_u]Andy[/name_u], [name_u]Avery[/name_u], [name_u]Sam[/name_u] etc. Not my personal taste, but it would be fine as a boy’s name.
I also thought of [name_u]Cary[/name_u] [name_m]Grant[/name_m] btw.

I love [name_u]Carey[/name_u] on a boy. It’s my grandfathers middle name and I grew up with [name_u]Cary[/name_u] [name_m]Grant[/name_m] movies, so it’s never felt odd on a boy to me.

I love [name_u]Cary[/name_u]. Probably something to do with my crush on [name_u]Cary[/name_u] Elwes

I really like [name_u]Carey[/name_u] (I can’t help put read [name_u]Cary[/name_u] as Car-ee) on a boy. Much more so than [name_f]Carrie[/name_f] on a girl.
[name_u]Carey[/name_u] is an Irish surname, making it, in my opinion, even more of a great name.

Edt: My first association was to [name_m]Jim[/name_m] [name_u]Carrey[/name_u]: not a bad association as celebrity associations can go

I love [name_u]Cary[/name_u]/[name_u]Carey[/name_u] on a boy! Those spellings have always been predominantly male as opposed to [name_f]Carrie[/name_f], sort of like [name_u]Jesse[/name_u]/[name_u]Jessie[/name_u] and [name_m]Adrian[/name_m]/[name_f]Adrienne[/name_f]. I think it’s very strong and handsome.

I love [name_u]Cary[/name_u] on a boy! The name feels dated on a girl but fresh for a boy.

I like [name_u]Cary[/name_u]. Despite being commandeered by girls, I prefer the name for a boy.

There was a boy in my oldest son’s preschool class named [name_u]Cary[/name_u]. He wore it very handsomely.

I do think it should be brought back.

[name_u]Ceri[/name_u] is a boy’s name in Welsh.

[name_u]CERI[/name_u] m Welsh
Possibly derived from Welsh ‘caru’ meaning “to love”.

I like [name_u]Cary[/name_u]!
