I love [name]Malia[/name], actually! Like so many others on here, I’m really not a fan of most of your names, but [name]Malia[/name] is charming, a bit exotic, sweet, girly. I love that it’s the Hawaiian form of [name]Mary[/name]. I’m not a fan of any of your MNs with [name]Malia[/name], but I think [name]Malia[/name] [name]Lark[/name] or [name]Malia[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name] would be nice. [name]How[/name] do you say [name]Mallie[/name]? like [name]Allie[/name] with an M on the front, or more like [name]Molly[/name]? Personally, I wouldn’t use a nn for [name]Malia[/name]–I think it’s too gorgeous on its own!

[name]Malia[/name] has a pretty sound but it would never work across Europe. [name]Malia[/name] is the name of massive party place in [name]Crete[/name], Greece and is basically just known for people getting drunk and along side the middle name [name]Lay[/name], it just wouldn’t work.

This was my first thought too! I’ve actually been to [name]Malia[/name], and while it was great fun, its definitely not the kind of place suitable to name a child after. Its a pretty sound but all I think of are the cheap bars, loud thumping music and drunk people dancing till 6am. Not a good connection for a precious little girl!

I like the idea of [name]Malia[/name] nickname [name]Mallie[/name]. Similarly, I fell in love with the name [name]Talia[/name] nn [name]Tallie[/name]. However, I came across the prononciation problem which deterred me. Is it [name]Mal[/name]-ya (two syllables), or [name]Mal[/name]-ee-uh (three syllables)… different pronounciations drive me nuts. Also, the word “mal” which means “bad” in Spanish bothers me, but I think I’m rare on that one. I think I’d prefer a one syllable middle name to match.

There is nothing wrong with being a single mom, if that is what you want… but if you do have a partner, then he probably will not let you name the child that and you’ll have to accept that.

Yes, well you have an acceptable name compared the others you suggested. I was just saying instead of putting such a horrible name on a child, put it on yourself instead. [name]Don[/name]'t use your child to make a statement. It’s not fair for the kid.
Please don’t use an innocent child to “defy” society. I can think of 100 different better ways to defy society, rather than inflict an awkward name on your child.
