Do you like

[name]Henry[/name]?

We are very seriously considering calling this little one [name]Henry[/name] (a sibling for [name]Agatha[/name]) and would love to know your opinions please. I like honesty, but please don’t make me cry!

I know it’s a very popular search on Nameberry (and I think I may have posted about the name before) but I’m wondering how many you actually know in real life and how old are they please? The statistics make me nervous but in my reality I don’t know a single [name]Henry[/name].

Like [name]Agatha[/name], It fits our criteria of being old fashioned, a bit quirky ([name]IMO[/name] anyway) literary, stylish for all ages and with an English vibe. The only point it falls down on is popularity but I’m thinking of overlooking that for such a great name!

We’re down to our final two names now so would really appreciate the feedback. Thank you.

[name]Henry[/name] is both cute and classic. Out of dozens of friend with little ones I know only one little [name]Henry[/name].

That’s very good to hear, thanks latergator!

I teach 1st grade and have 2 Henrys this year but I teach in [name]Melbourne[/name]…there are a handful in our school of 500. We tend to follow British naming trends more closely than American naming trends here in [name]Oz[/name].
For what it is worth, I think the name is fabulous! And, of the many friends I still have back in the US, I cannot think of 1 [name]Henry[/name] amongst their babies/kids and that is even with taking into consideration friends of friends and cousins of friends, etc. The only American [name]Henry[/name] i’ve ever know was my grandpa; my dad’s middle name is [name]Henry[/name], after his dad.

Good luck!

Actually [name]Steph[/name] I’m in Australia too! [name]Henry[/name] came third in the Nameberry searches recently which made me wonder about its popularity in the US to see if maybe that was reflected here in [name]Oz[/name] but I think you’re probably right that Australia follows the UK more.

Plus of course I value the berries input as they have such great taste!

I’m so glad you like the name!

I have only met 2 [name]Henry[/name]'s (babies) recently, I think it is becoming a bit more popular, but that’s what happens to great names. [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Agatha[/name] go so well together too! I don’t know the other name you are considering, but I say go with the one you love despite potential popularity.

Thanks avesnames, the other name we are considering is [name]Gabriel[/name].

[name]Henry[/name]? I think it’s impossible not to adore [name]Henry[/name]. He’s very charismatic, to say the least - [name]Henry[/name]. [name]Henry[/name] is at his height of stylishness now, and is quite popular ( 57#, gosh!). [name]Henry[/name] is a classic, though, it’s never to be overused.

[name]Henry[/name] and [name]Agatha[/name], while they sound good together, are quite different in terms of popularity. Whilst [name]Agatha[/name] is not even in the top 1000, [name]Henry[/name], is as I aforementioned in the top 100. [name]Henry[/name] is more popular in some areas, the number doesn’t mean you’ll necessarily meet more Henrys! I think you should go for it ([name]Henry[/name]).

I think [name]Henry[/name] is such a nice name and [name]Agatha[/name] and [name]Henry[/name] would make a great sibset. I’ve not met a single [name]Henry[/name] ever in my life. I’ve heard of one through a friend that is the same age as my oldest son (3 years). I’m in [name]Canada[/name], though, so I don’t know how that compares to Australia.

I love the name [name]Henry[/name]. It’s in my top 10. I don’t know anyone named [name]Henry[/name] but I know two Gabriels. I’m in the US.

I quite love [name]Henry[/name]. I come so close to adding him to my list every time I revamp it, but he never quite makes it. I still love him, though, and I think [name]Agatha[/name] and [name]Henry[/name] make a very adorable pair!

As far as popularity… I know none. Well, I know a [name]Henry[/name], but he’s probably half a decade older than my parents, if not moreso, I haven’t really met any little Henrys yet. I would love to, though, I think [name]Henry[/name] on a little boy would be just adorable!

[name]IMo[/name], please use [name]Gabriel[/name]. He will thank you for it someday!

[name]Henry[/name] is wonderful with [name]Agatha[/name]! I know one little [name]Henry[/name]. I say, go for it!

I don’t know any [name]Henry[/name]'s in real life. My newest association to [name]Henry[/name] is the TV show ‘Once upon a time.’ I really like the sounds of [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Agatha[/name] as siblings and I think that it would be a wonderful pick for any new baby boy.

Good luck!

I just wanted to chime in and agree with the PPs.
[name]Henry[/name] is a fantastic name.
By all means, go for it
 csmom

I know of a couple little [name]Henry[/name]'s via old Facebook friends. Other than that the only one I actually know is in his early 30’s. American Midwest here

[name]Agatha[/name] and [name]Henry[/name] would make a lovely vintage pair! I think they’re “natural fits” for siblings.

I love [name]Henry[/name] and I don’t think I know any Henries. The only bad association for me is the chocolate bar, but really not a big deal! I really like the name [name]Henry[/name]. It reminds of the main character in the Time Travelers Wife, which is a novel I loved. It definitely goes well with [name]Agatha[/name]!

You can’t go wrong with either [name]Henry[/name] or [name]Gabriel[/name]. I think that [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Agatha[/name] make a great pair. I think that your reasons for liking it (classic, literary, distinguished) are perfect.

[name]Henry[/name] and [name]Agatha[/name] together make my heart melt! [name]Henry[/name] is a really lovely, classic name.

I don’t know whereabouts you are, but [name]Henry[/name] is rapidly gaining popularity in the UK, as a follow on from [name]Harry[/name] which was #1 in 2011. I know about 8 that I can think of (excluding a few relatives over 70), the eldest being 16, the youngest a few months.

[name]Gabriel[/name] is also lovely. To be honest, you can’t go wrong at all if they’re your top choices!
