Do you love it or hate it?

[name_m]Cooper[/name_m] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]-[name_u]Lee[/name_u] for a girl?

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]. Hate [name_m]Cooper[/name_m].

Hate it. [name_m]Cooper[/name_m] is masculine - not feminine or unisex. Out of the billions of girl names in our world today, I don’t see why a boy name would be considered most appropriate. But, that’s just me. On the other hand, I do adore [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], but when hyphenated with [name_u]Lee[/name_u] (a unisex name leaning towards masculine) uh-mee-[name_u]LEE[/name_u]-uh-[name_u]LEE[/name_u] sounds awkward, at best.

My thoughts exactly.

Hate it, sorry.

Sorry, but I think the name both sounds and looks messy. While I’m not opposed to double names, the ‘L’ sounds in [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_u]Lee[/name_u] are too close together, and a double middle name just looks sloppy and confusing. [name_m]Just[/name_m] give the child two middles if you’re so compelled. As for [name_m]Cooper[/name_m], I don’t like it on a boy, much less a girl. I think @aldabellaxwulfe hits the nail on the head with their explanation.

Hate it. Only bit I like is [name_f]Amelia[/name_f].

I don’t like [name_m]Cooper[/name_m] for a girl- or a boy for that matter.

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] is nice and so is [name_u]Lee[/name_u]. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t like them strung together. Prefer the feminine [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] spelling for a girl.

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]-[name_u]Lee[/name_u] is lovely. [name_m]Cooper[/name_m] is not.

I’m not a fan of [name_m]Cooper[/name_m] on a girl or boy. I also think that [name_u]Lee[/name_u] could be a nickname for [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], so hyphenating the two is a bit strange. [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_m]Cooper[/name_m] “[name_u]Lee[/name_u]” would be cute.

I’ve always really liked [name_m]Cooper[/name_m] for a boy, but wouldn’t consider using it on a girl (as pro-unisex as I normally am), mostly because of teasing and the lack of a feminine nickname. On the other hand, I’ve met girls named [name_u]Parker[/name_u] and [name_u]Carson[/name_u] who wore/wear their names very well, so I would probably be confused to see it on a little girl but not surprised/enraged in any way.

I agree with everyone else on [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]-[name_u]Lee[/name_u] – definitely doesn’t roll off the tongue. [name_u]Lee[/name_u] has always felt unnecessary to me, so unless it’s a family name I would ditch it entirely.

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] is a great name, though.

Hate [name_m]Cooper[/name_m] on a girl.

[name_u]Lee[/name_u] is my middle name, thats the only reason why its there.

This.

I could live with [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]. [name_m]Cooper[/name_m] on the other hand, no.

I really really don’t like this name.

[name_m]Cooper[/name_m] is so masculine, even as a surname.

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]-[name_u]Lee[/name_u]? You get the repetitive lee sound.

This name is just altogether unpleasant.

I agree that [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]-[name_u]Lee[/name_u] is a little hard to say and feels a little redundant, but I think meaning matters more than sound for middle names. Since [name_u]Lee[/name_u] has meaning to you, it’s really about how strongly you want to include it. [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] is lovely as a middle. I actually prefer the hyphenation instead of two separate middles for a girl, because many women (like myself) end up adding their married name to the end of their name, or moving their maiden name to a middle spot.

It’s interesting how much everyone hates [name_m]Cooper[/name_m]! It seems very similar to [name_u]Harper[/name_u] (No. 11 in popularity in 2014) and [name_u]Piper[/name_u]. It’s not that appealing to me personally, and I’d worry about the childhood teasing potential for a name that rhymes with “pooper,” but I don’t think it would come off as overly masculine or weird if it were actually used for a little girl.
