Do you think it's too soft?

I quite like the name [name]Dorian[/name], but my gut says that it’s unusable due to its soft sound and lack of nickname options that sound masculine. WDYTO [name]Dorian[/name]? [name]Do[/name] you think it sounds to soft or girly? Can you think of any nn’s that might make it sound a bit stronger?

The name as a whole definatly sounds masculine to me  I love it, and maybe you could use [name]Ryan[/name] as a nickname?

I love [name]Dorian[/name]. It was on our list for a while but we decided it was too close to [name]Damien[/name]. I think [name]Ian[/name] or [name]Ryan[/name] could work are masculine nicknames.

[name]Dorian[/name] is really nice!! I agree [name]Ryan[/name] or (especially) [name]Ian[/name] would be great nicknames! I think it’s quite masculine and although it is “soft”- it is soft in a good way!!

I have a student named [name]Dorian[/name], and I think it works just fine. None of the other students seem to bat an eyelash.

I like [name]Dorian[/name] a lot! It doesn’t sound feminine to me in the slightest. I would actually consider using it, but since I couldn’t stand The Picture of [name]Dorian[/name] [name]Gray[/name], that maybe using [name]Dorian[/name] wouldn’t be the best, haha. I do think it’s a lovely name, though, and I love [name]Ian[/name] as a nn for it. Or maybe [name]Rory[/name]? I love [name]Rory[/name], but I’m not sure anyone would see [name]Rory[/name] as more masculine than [name]Dorian[/name] (except for me. haha)!

Good luck!

I like [name]Dorian[/name]. It is very masculine and not in the least bit girly. I don’t really care for nickname’s, prefer the full name. [name]Dory[/name] would be sweet though.

I love [name]Dorian[/name] for a boy. There’s a guy named [name]Dorian[/name] at my high school, and he’s never been teased for his name. I don’t think [name]Dorian[/name] needs a nickname, but I suppose you could use [name]Ian[/name], [name]Orin[/name], [name]Ori[/name], or [name]Rory[/name].
