It reads feminine to me, but I wouldn’t be surprised to meet an [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] of any gender.

Solidly neutral. If I saw it written as [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] [surname] I wouldn’t know

where I live, [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] is overwhelmingly feminine (I have a cousin named [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] (g), and I’ve known at least 50 throughout my life - all girls!)

however, I wouldn’t be surprised at all to meet a boy or nonbinary person named [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] - in fact I’d probably be very excited - as I know it doesn’t lean so feminine in other places!!

I would say that where I’m from it’s pretty overwhelmingly feminine - I don’t know or even am aware of a single male [name_u]Alexis[/name_u]. However, I am aware that it has been used for males also, so I would say it’s unisex leaning feminine for me.

Feminine for me — my main association is [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] from Schitt’s [name_u]Creek[/name_u]!

For me in depends on the setting. In an Anglophone context I’d expect feminine. In a European (excluding IE/UK) or Latin American context I’d expect masculine.

I see it as one of those names that was traditionally masculine but now almost completely viewed as feminine. I wouldn’t necessarily be surprised to meet a male [name_u]Alexis[/name_u], but I’m sure he’d receive a fair amount of teasing for having a “girl name”. Though I do personally like it better for a boy.

Leaning feminine in USA. Definitely masculine in [name_u]France[/name_u], [name_u]Germany[/name_u] and [name_f]Italy[/name_f] and Greece.

I would guess female but not be surprised to hear otherwise

I’ve met many people named [name_u]Alexis[/name_u], and they’ve all been women! However, I wouldn’t be shocked to meet an [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] of another sex/gender!

i’ve met one of each, both were in my first grade class, and i feel like i honestly read it as more masculine now, but i wouldn’t be surprised if it was any other gender.
