There’s a character on the show named [name_f]Morwenna[/name_f]. While I think the name is a bit of a mouthfull, I think the shorter Wenna is lovely. And the meaning is beautiful too. It means “waves of the sea.”
What do you think about Wenna - usable or too different?
[name_m]How[/name_m] about this other form I found - Mirienna?
I have family in Cornwall and know two [name_f]Morwenna[/name_f]'s from there in real life, it works well on them and isn’t too out there but isn’t too popular. Wenna is a very sweet nickname, I’ve never heard of the name Mirienna but I think it’s one that’ll grow on me, [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] is a similar name, the only girl I know called [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] pronounces it row-WHEN-ah, but it’s pretty both ways and Wenna would also work as a nn.
Yep! It’s why I had [name_f]Demelza[/name_f] as top name for a second girl for over a year and still love it haha. I think [name_f]Morwenna[/name_f] is completely usable, only 3 syllables, easy to spell. I really like [name_f]Enna[/name_f] as a nn or full name, but Wenna works too. I love -enna names, particularly Rowenna, and Lowenna, plus [name_f]Jenna[/name_f], Sowenna, and I came across Arwenna somewhere.
YES - I love Poldark! [name_f]Morwenna[/name_f] is lovely, as is Wenna. I don’t think [name_f]Morwenna[/name_f] is a mouthful particularly, but if you feel it’s too much then I think Wenna could easily stand alone and is very strong and pretty. [name_f]Fenna[/name_f] is gorgeous too.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Morwenna[/name_f] and similar wen containing names. Wenna is beautiful, too. I’ve taken a shine to [name_f]Owena[/name_f] lately.
I don’t think [name_f]Morwenna[/name_f] is out there at all. It’s a lovely name and long been a favourite of mine. Wenna as a short form is nice too. I’ve also long loved [name_f]Rowena[/name_f], and just about any name with wen in it.
