Does Cassius have to be Cash?

I love [name]Cassius[/name]. My husband really loves [name]Cassius[/name]. I strongly dislike [name]Cash[/name]…to me it’s like [name]Bentley[/name], [name]Diamond[/name], ect…just too flashy for my tastes. Is their any other nickname or shortened version you Berries can think of? Or should we give it up & move on?

[name]How[/name] about [name]Cas[/name]?

In my family some kind of shortened version is unavoidable! I would only use a name if there’s some shortened version that I can tolerate. My mom would find a way to shorten [name]Lee[/name]…

[name]Cass[/name] would be nice. What about [name]Ash[/name]?
What would the middle name be? [name]May[/name] also be some NN options when connecting the FN/MN together.

I love the idea of connecting fn+mn=nn

I would love suggestions!!

Whats the initial of your last name?
Hmm… [name]How[/name] about
[name]Cassius[/name] Y___ ([name]York[/name], [name]Yeats[/name], [name]Yale[/name], [name]Yosemite[/name], [name]Yuri[/name], etc) NN = [name]Cy[/name] (as in [name]Cyrus[/name])
[name]Cassius[/name] J___, NN= C.J.
[name]Cassius[/name] [name]Dean[/name], NN [name]Cade[/name]
[name]Cassius[/name] [name]Gabe[/name]/[name]Gabriel[/name], NN Cage
[name]Cassius[/name] I____, NN [name]Cai[/name] (as in [name]Caius[/name])
[name]Cassius[/name] M___, NN [name]Cam[/name]
[name]Cassius[/name] P____, NN [name]Cap[/name]
[name]Cassius[/name] [name]Roland[/name], NN [name]Carl[/name]
[name]Cassius[/name] [name]Zane[/name], NN Cazz

Wow! I like the idea of [name]Cay[/name]…I would say it with a hard K, like [name]Kai[/name]. [name]Cassius[/name] [name]York[/name] is very handsome. I think Cappy or Cubby could be a cute childhood nickname. Though I feel like that’s just the kind of nickname that my husband would veto…I mean, a man who loves butch names like [name]Cassius[/name] usually has a less open mind towards things like [name]Kit[/name] & [name]Chip[/name] unfortunately!

When I hear the name [name]Cassius[/name], [name]Cash[/name] wouldn’t even cross my mind as a nn. My auto go to would probably be [name]Cass[/name], but in comparison to the ultra masculine [name]Cassius[/name], [name]Cass[/name] is quite feminine. I do love the idea of teaming it up with the mn to create the nn though ie [name]Cassius[/name] [name]James[/name] (C.J.)

Is that because you’re saying it like ‘cassy-us’ instead of ‘cash-us’ perhaps?

[name]Do[/name] people pronounce it that way?

I would pronounce it [name]Ca[/name]-shus/[name]Cash[/name]-us

I also think Caz would work as a nn even without a Z middle name.

Maybe because I am Aussie but I have never known as [name]Cassius[/name] and wouldn’t have even thought of [name]Cash[/name] as a nn.
I agree [name]Cash[/name] is not my taste either for the same reasons you said.
