Does Clementine Susannah make you want to burst into song?

I’m really feeling the name [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] for my third, a sister for [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] and [name_u]Arlo[/name_u]. [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] is a family name that I love, and assuming we don’t use it as a first, it will definitely be in the middle spot. [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] sounds lovely to my ears, and (I think) fits with our naming style, but with associations to both “Oh my darlin [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]” and “Oh [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]!”, is it too folksy for one name?

Ahhh I love both names, but yes, it does feel a little too folksy. :frowning:

[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] is a BEAUTIFUL name. A few people might relate it to songs(I do not), it’s not like you’ll constantly be calling her by her full name. I think [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] and [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] sound great together and make a wonderful Sibset!

Too much for me, but I like [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] with your other names. Personally, I would pick a different middle.

I love [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], especially with your other kids’ names. Paired with [name_f]Susannah[/name_f], yeah, I definitely hear a little banjo, but as a middle it probably won’t come up that often. And it’s not like it’s a bad association, or a specific song name or reference that people will always point out.

You’ve all confirmed my feelings that [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is great and a perfect fit with my other kids, but that [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] might be a bit much. It’s really hard because I don’t think I can get rid of [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] in the middle spot but [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] just feels right as a first name this time round. Junebug, [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] and [name_u]Clemmie[/name_u] sound so lovely together! I do think though that middle names don’t get used very often, if at all, beyond the initial name announcement so maybe I shouldn’t get too hung up over it. Hmmm… a lot to think about!

Any more thought would be much appreciated!

[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] is lovely. I would be more worried about how [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] sounds with your surname.

Perhaps add a 2nd middle??

[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] [name_f]Beth[/name_f]

… Not sure if this helps?

Well, I don’t know anything about the music, but the name combo flows well and definitely matches the other names.

Are your other kids boys or girls? [name_m]Just[/name_m] curious.

Congratulations on your third baby!

Thats a really good point @southern.maple. [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] sounds great with our last name, or at least to me it does. Its 2 syllable with no repeating sounds so the flow is really good.

It’s so funny that you should say that @ramonadblack, I was just thinking that a second middle could work quite well, specifically my mother’s name which is [name_f]Jane[/name_f]! Great minds think alike  [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] and [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] work really well. We were going to only use 1 middle but that’s not set in stone.

We have a girl and a boy, [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_m]Eli[/name_m]$e and [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] [name_m]Edw[/name_m]@rd J@mes.

I love both names, but not necessarily together for the reason you mention. But if you love them go for it. It is rare that both names are actually used together.

Sort of, but not really. I think it’s okay.

If it were me, I would probably pick a different first name. [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] is a family name with meaning so that should stay, but I agree with others that [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] is a lot of name for a little one  [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] and [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] are fabulous names and I just don’t think [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is as great. [name_m]Just[/name_m] my personal opinion. Good luck & congratulations on #3! I’m sure big brother and sister are incredibly excited.

I love this combination. Both names are two of my favorites and a lot of people don’t automatically associate either of them with folk songs anymore, so I would go ahead and use it.

Personally I love the combo, and as others have said it’s very unlikely that the middle would be used much anyway. You could always use a variation of susannah e.g [name_f]Susan[/name_f] , [name_f]Suzanne[/name_f] with [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]. I would definitely keep [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] as a first name it is lovely!

[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] is EXQUISITE! Both Names are SUPERB! [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] works perfectly with [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] and [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] while [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] is perfect with [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_m]Edward[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]! I honestly wouldn’t have thought anything other than “WOW! What GORGEOUS Names!” if you hadn’t mentioned the Songs! Well done and Congratulations on her imminent arrival!

With [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] alone you are already pushing it. [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] is just too over the top.

Does it make me want to burst into song? Maybe a little, but only because I love it. Both [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] and [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] are marvelous!
