Does first name match last name?

We like the name [name_m]Milo[/name_m] for our son but our last name is [name_m]Miller[/name_m]…does [name_m]Milo[/name_m] [name_m]Miller[/name_m] sound dumb?

[name_m]Milo[/name_m] [name_m]Miller[/name_m] has a lot of repeating sounds, and something else might sound better but I dont think its unusable.

It’s perfectly fine.

[name_m]Milo[/name_m] has a few repeating letters but I don’t find it unusable with the LN. If you are very worried about it and still love [name_m]Milo[/name_m] you could use it as a MN?

I don’t think that it’s unusable per se, but the [name_f]Mil[/name_f]- sound repeating is a little much. If I were you I would use a different first name, but it could still work if you’re really set on [name_m]Milo[/name_m].

I don’t think [name_m]Milo[/name_m] Milller would sound good with a middle name with a M. So just make sure the middle name has no M.

I’m sorry, I think [name_m]Milo[/name_m] [name_m]Miller[/name_m] looks silly.
I know a kid whose name is similar to her surname the way [name_m]Milo[/name_m] [name_m]Miller[/name_m] is, people joke that her parents were too lazy to think of a first name.
What about [name_u]Arlo[/name_u]?

I don’t think it’s awful.

[name_m]Milo[/name_m] is two syllables with the first stress sounding like MY, where as [name_m]Miller[/name_m] has the first stress being a MILL sound.

I think it’s different enough that if you were to use it, it would be fine. For a middle name I would suggest something either 1 syllable or 3+ syllables to break it up. And maybe something that he could use as a nickname.

Ex. [name_m]Milo[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Miller[/name_m] could be MJ [name_m]Miller[/name_m].

I think the similarity is noticeable, but fine. It’s actually quite striking and memorable! I’d agree that a middle name with lots of different sounds is a good idea.

I think it’s fine

I think it’s fine since [name_m]Milo[/name_m] has a long I sound while [name_m]Miller[/name_m] has a short I. I wouldn’t rule it out just because of that. The letters repeat but the sound isn’t the same which makes it ok to me.

I think it’s a little too much.

I don’t think it works, but then I grew up with a name like this and hated it.

I kinda think it sounds like a celebrity name. Not in a bad way. I can picture [name_m]Milo[/name_m] [name_m]Miller[/name_m] as an actor or singer.
