[name_f]Hallie[/name_f] definitely works as a stand alone. I used to know a little girl named [name_f]Hallie[/name_f] (big brother was Christ0pher).

I quite like the name [name_f]Hallie[/name_f]. I think it works just fine as a full name.

I’ve known several girls named [name_f]Hallie[/name_f]/[name_u]Halle[/name_u] and think it works just fine.

I love [name_f]Hallie[/name_f]!

Maybe if it was spelled [name_f]Hally[/name_f], but I would assume [name_f]Hallie[/name_f] was a nickname ( I really like the sound of it by the way)
Hallow or [name_u]Harley[/name_u] maybe?

I think [name_u]Halle[/name_u] is gorgeous, for some reason I’m not as fussed on [name_f]Hallie[/name_f]? Works OK as a full name I guess, but like @emmievis would probably expect there to be a full name for it.

[name_f]Hannelore[/name_f]
[name_f]Alannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Thalia[/name_f]
[name_f]Thessaly[/name_f]
[name_f]Thalassa[/name_f]
[name_f]Natalia[/name_f] / [name_f]Nathalie[/name_f]
[name_u]Hilary[/name_u] / [name_f]Hilaria[/name_f]
[name_f]Mahala[/name_f]
[name_f]Michaela[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Hallie[/name_f]! In “why do I know this” trivia, one of the girls in the 90s Parent Trap is named [name_f]Hallie[/name_f] because it’s director [name_f]Nancy[/name_f] Meyers’ daughter’s name. Feels like those Victorian-era nicknames-as-given-names, like [name_f]Lettie[/name_f] and [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f].

[name_f]Hallie[/name_f] seems perfectly all right on its own. Besides, there are a lot of nickname-y names gaining popularity, so it won’t seem odd.

Sure it can work! In fact, I like [name_f]Hallie[/name_f] better than the full names options. [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_f]Evie[/name_f] are actually full names, I think [name_f]Hallie[/name_f] is as good as any of them.

I know several women (born in the 80s) named [name_f]Hayley[/name_f]/[name_u]Haley[/name_u]/[name_f]Hallie[/name_f] etc. Usually pronounced Hay-lee but sometimes [name_m]Hal[/name_m]-lee.

I prefer the spelling [name_u]Halle[/name_u], because it feels more like a standalone name than [name_f]Hallie[/name_f]. That said, all spellings of this name are really pretty! If you love [name_f]Hallie[/name_f] more than any of the longer options, go for it. It certainly does not require a longer name. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this makes sense!

A formal name is an option though, so before deciding, I encourage you to explore some ideas. Here are a few suggestions…

[name_f]Halia[/name_f] – [name_u]Love[/name_u] this! Not too long, and also offers the nn [name_f]Lia[/name_f].
[name_f]Haliana[/name_f] – I am in love with [name_f]Liana[/name_f] right now, so I thought I would offer this elegant option.
[name_f]Halina[/name_f] – Has a sleek sound. Possible nn [name_f]Lina[/name_f] as well.
[name_f]Halona[/name_f]
[name_f]Hala[/name_f]
[name_u]Halsey[/name_u]

The Parent Trap is actually the reason I found and loved the name. It’s one of my favorite movies.

Thanks for all the replies everyone! I really appreciate everyone’s feedback.

Definitely! I think [name_f]Hallie[/name_f] is a lovely name!

[name_f]Hallie[/name_f] is great!

The Parent Trap movie  (love it!!!)

Yep, it does.

It definitely works as a stand-alone. Especially, if all you are going to call her is [name_f]Hallie[/name_f]. A “full name” is so unnecessary.

Thanks to everyone. I thought it could, and then I thought well maybe not. It’s nice to be reassured. And I absolutely love the Parent Trap. I have watched it two days in a row, and plan on continuing it through the weekend and next week (because spring break, that’s why). [name_f]Hallie[/name_f] is so awesome.

Sorry about my rant. For those of you who suggested [name_u]Halle[/name_u], it just looks odd to me. But thanks for taking time to answer.
