Working on my girls list. I had another post asking if [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Jane[/name_f] could be sisters, and it seemed like most people weren’t bothered by the marijuana association. So one more question: Our last name starts with a D and rhymes with nods. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though it doesn’t really sound like “[name_f]Doe[/name_f],” it has the same first two letters and is also one syllable, which makes me wonder if it’s too close. I don’t want my daughter’s name to sound too generic, or like she’s a body that washed up on a beach somewhere!
So what do you think? Does [name_f]Jane[/name_f] Nods-with-a-D make you immediately think of [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Doe[/name_f]?
Personally I wouldn’t notice the similarities unless they were pointed out, and I don’t think many people would think of [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Doe[/name_f] at all anyway, especially kids.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] the name [name_f]Jane[/name_f] by the way!
I think the “s” at the end of your name keeps it from sounding too much like [name_f]Doe[/name_f] or too plain. I think [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is lovely!
