My top girl name right now is Margot. My only concern is I don’t know if it flows with our last name. Our last name is Carlos and I’m worried about them both ending in an “o” sound that it doesn’t flow! What do you think? Also open to suggestions. Our runner up is Marigold, so currently loving all the M names!!
It’s a little choppy, but I don’t think it’s a dealbreaker and it’s definitely not the worst I’ve heard. Both [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] are lovely choices!
Eek, it’s not a dealbreaker but M@rgot C@Rolos is a lot of “ar” and “O” sounds honestly. The more I say it, the less it bothers me though so I don’t think it’s out of the question. I honestly just don’t love [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] - the hard D at the end just never sounds pretty to me. Good luck - choosing the perfect name is so hard!
I actually really like them together! I love that they sound similar—and I don’t think it’s a big deal, odd, or unfortunate that they do. It’s cool.
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] Ca.rlos sounds just fine to me
I think [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] is gorgeous.
I think it flows very well! I prefer [name_f]Margot[/name_f] to [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]
It’s pretty tongue twister-y, but not unusable.
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] is a little too rhyming for me. [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] is a solid choice and beautiful. I also recently am loving on [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f].
I definitely see what you’re saying but, like others, don’t think it’s the worst tongue twister in the world.
If you end up wanting another, though, here are a few “M” suggestions:
[name_f]Marisol[/name_f]
[name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Melody[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabry[/name_f]
[name_f]Meadow[/name_f]
Hopefully this helps!
I think it’s okey.
I think personally I’d trip over Margo.t Carlo.s because of the two repeated sounds. [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] flows better you could always nickname her [name_f]Margot[/name_f] or [name_f]Margo[/name_f] ([name_u]Mar[/name_u]igold!) and then it wouldn’t have to be paired with the surname as often?
If you call her M@rigold C@rlos, she could go by “Goldie Carlos,” which I think is fantastic.
I think it sounds fine with your surname!
I hear what you mean. The back-to-back “-go Car-“ is a repeated sound phonetically (g and c are both velar plosives.) I think that’s why you’re questioning the flow.
That said, people can say the word “go-cart” just fine. No reason why this should be an issue.
M@rg0t C@rl0s is a gorgeous name. The repeated sounds and letters make the full name feel so cohesive, like it was meant to be
