We are not native English speaker. We are considering to use [name]Quinn[/name] as middle name of our daughter in honor of mother’s maiden name. The last name is pronounced like [name]Lee[/name]. For example, [name]Juliana[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] [name]Lee[/name]. It sounds not that good but we are not sure. [name]How[/name] do you think? Thanks for any opinions.
Actually we are also considering to use [name]Seven[/name] as middle name. [name]Juliana[/name] [name]Seven[/name] [name]Lee[/name]. Is that better?
This is an English name? Or will this be baby’s registered name, for an american passport? What name will the child go by in daily life? My son has two names. He is registered here as 付家翔，at the hospital, but then he has an English name for his American passport. Is something like that possible for you?
If not, I‘d just go with a name up front that’s easily pronounced by Chinese speakers too, ([name]Juliana[/name] could go by Zhuli / [name]Julie[/name], or [name]Ahna[/name] /[name]Ana[/name] for instance) and then put a Chinese name in the middle. You can just use Qin. It doesn’t matter if people are familiar with it, as a middle name. You could also just put the Pinyin for whatever Chinese name you will give to baby. So, say you name her 利” （just as an example, I have no idea of the characters or if that sounds nice!）You could the name her [name]Juliana[/name] Fei Li or [name]Juliana[/name] Zi Li in English.
[name]Juliana[/name] Qin Li is lovely.
Edit: Just wanted to add that if you really don’t want to use pinyin, then there is nothing wrong with Juliana Quinn Li. It sounds great in English, and the flow is just fine.
[name]Quinn[/name] sounds fine as a middle with last name [name]Lee[/name]/Li, but I agree, there’s no real reason not to use Qin for the middle unless it’s just not your preference. Same with the first, totally fine to give a fully English language name but most English speakers can follow pinyin. [name]Juliana[/name] Qin Li and [name]Juliana[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] Li are both nice.
