Does Philippa have these vibes?

My goal in a name is to connote slightly literary, slightly classic, but a little bit funky and quirky vibes. I also like the idea of an accessible more modern nickname if my child is nothing like me and just wants to be super normal. My childhood favorite name, from the time I was 13 until I was probably 18, was [name_f]Philippa[/name_f]. Recently it occured to me that [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] could fit all the vibes. I still love it, but my at the time fiance shot it down early on so I ditched it. Now I’m single again and compiling all the names I love on my own.

Anyway, does [name_f]Philippa[/name_f], nicknamed [name_f]Pippa[/name_f], fit those vibes to you? What do you think of when you hear the name?

I’m getting classic, funky, and quirky vibes—especially with nn [name_f]Pippa[/name_f]—but not particularly literary. I do think it’s a really charming name, though!

Yes! It’s classic and clunky, fitting the vintage trend, with cute funky nn options that feel versatile and full of possibility- she could be anything from [name_u]Philly[/name_u] to [name_f]Pippa[/name_f], from [name_m]Pip[/name_m] to [name_f]Lili[/name_f]!
[name_f]Philippa[/name_f] is great

I think it fits all of your criteria beautifully! I’ve always had a soft spot for [name_f]Phillipa[/name_f], especially with the nickname [name_f]Pippa[/name_f]

I’m the odd one out it seems, but I don’t feel that it fits the vibe you are after. To me, it feels quite dusty and dated (a name only people over 45 are called, kind of thing). I also find [name_f]Pippa[/name_f] way too overused, particularly as a pet name - but that may be a location thing; it is popular here, anyway.

If you love it, then go for it, but it’s not my cup of tea at all.

I’ve been in the same position before with one-time fiances shooting down favourite names quickly, and ugh, it’s not fun. Sorry he vetoed [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] on you! I don’t personally love it, but then again my style is super different from yours! I think [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] fits what you’re looking for perfectly!

I definitely see where you’re coming from! [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] is classy, romantic, literary and a bit spunky. I love the nickname possibilities! [name_f]Pippa[/name_f] for something versatile and feminine, [name_m]Pip[/name_m] for something spunky, [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] for something cute.

I think [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] fits your description. [name_f]Philippa[/name_f]/[name_f]Pippa[/name_f] is a favourite of mine.
