I have a [name_f]Freya[/name_f] 4nn M4r1e (the middle names are traditional names passed down). I was wondering if [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] would sound nice with [name_f]Freya[/name_f]. I love [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] and the nickname [name_f]Pippa[/name_f]. I’m wondering if it sounds too pretentious? We live in a rural town as well. [name_f]Freya[/name_f] is actually well-received with our friends and family surprisingly. Is [name_f]Freya[/name_f] and [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] too much together with the shared “f” sound?
I also have been looking at combos and my favourite is [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] so far. Any more suggestions? Thanks!
Honestly, I don’t think [name_f]Freya[/name_f] and [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] work well together. [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] is so classic and it almost feels stuffy next to [name_f]Freya[/name_f]. What about using just [name_f]Pippa[/name_f]? It might match a bit better. And [name_f]Pippa[/name_f] [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] is very cute!
[name_f]Philippa[/name_f] is maybe a little pretentious. It is cute with [name_f]Pippa[/name_f] though and I like [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]. I do agree they are a little different in style. To me [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] is an upper crust English girl, whereas [name_f]Freya[/name_f] is a little earthier with the Norse origins. I think the double Fs are OK.
It’s possible but not great to put them together. I love [name_f]Philippa[/name_f], and [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] is a great combo, but with sister [name_f]Freya[/name_f] I think [name_f]Pippa[/name_f] is the best way to go. [name_f]Pippa[/name_f] [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] works well and would make a great sister for [name_f]Freya[/name_f].
Another option is to use [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] nn [name_f]Pippa[/name_f]. I feel [name_f]Freya[/name_f] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] is better than [name_f]Freya[/name_f] and [name_f]Philippa[/name_f]. However I think the best option is [name_f]Freya[/name_f] and [name_f]Pippa[/name_f].
Thank you all for your responses. My style is all over the place and your responses were aligned with what I was thinking as well. I was hoping [name_f]Freya[/name_f] might work well with many of my favourites as it seems to be a perfect intersection in what I love in names—bohemian, myth, badass, and British-esque (popular in UK right now). I feel like majority of the names I like are more on the posh British side so it is difficult when trying to think of sibling names for [name_f]Freya[/name_f]. While I do love [name_f]Pippa[/name_f], I would love a name that feels more finished. [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] is a great suggestion, however, it doesn’t work for us as we have an unsavoury Aunt [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]. Thank you for your input!
They do have different vibes somewhat, but I think it works just fine. [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] being longer balances out well with the fact that [name_f]Freya[/name_f] has two middles. [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] is sweet.
I do get an almost aristocratic vibe from [name_f]Philippa[/name_f], while [name_f]Freya[/name_f] feels more earthy to me. I do think [name_f]Pippa[/name_f] and [name_f]Freya[/name_f] would work better. Not sure of your naming style, but here are a few more ideas:
Not to make you change your mind again, but I think [name_f]Freya[/name_f] and [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] is really perfect. I’m just not a fan of [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] [name_f]Sophie[/name_f].
In the minority here, but I love them as sisters! [name_f]Freya[/name_f] isn’t a name I generally consider “down to earth” and I believe it has a similar vibe to [name_f]Philippa[/name_f]!
