Not to sound like a flake…but…we named the baby [name]Piper[/name] a few months ago. When people hear the name, they usually seem to genuinely like it…BUT they often say “it’s cute” which makes me think they see it as more of a dog’s name or pet name than a real name. What do you think? I worry I saddled my baby girl with a name that will not grow up with her.
[name]Piper[/name] is lovely! You made a wonderful choice. I think a lot of people say, “Oh, [name]Piper[/name]'s so cute!” just because your baby girl is probably adorable.
I mean, whenever I meet someone and ask the name of their baby, if I think the name is nice, I’ll usually say it’s cute, haha. That doesn’t really mean it doesn’t grow up well–it just means that I really like the choice. I mean, I think [name]Isabelle[/name] is cute, and I would name my daughter that in a heartbeat, but I also can imagine a grandma named [name]Isabelle[/name]. I’m the same way with [name]Piper[/name]–it’s adorable for a little girl but because of associations like [name]Piper[/name] Perabo, I can totally imagine it aging really well.
I think [name]Pippa[/name] is a lovely nn that would help her name age gracefully, as well.
Good luck!
[name]Piper[/name] may not be the most traditional classic, but it’s definitely a real name, and it really is cute. I think it’s a great name!
[name]Piper[/name] has a lot of youthful energy, but it’s not babyish. I can easily picture a [name]Piper[/name] of any age.
Not to me, no. Sorry I don’t see them growing past age 9 at all.
I love [name]Piper[/name]. I know a grown woman named [name]Piper[/name] and she does perfectly fine in the grown up world She has a career and everything
I think it’s perfectly fine, much better than some other names out there.
No, I actually love the name [name]Piper[/name]. And I guess its from growing up watching Charmed, but I can definitely see it on a grown woman.
I think it’s a cute name that will age nicely with your daughter…good choice!
I don’t like it. I feel it’s a nice name for a baby and a small child but have real trouble seeing a executive woman. It’s too much like ‘the pied piper’ for me. I feel like it’s a name for a middle to lower class woman and is a fad that will pass just like the Jessicca’s of the 80s. We can look back and place [name]Piper[/name] in 2012. Naming a person can be very tricky so good luck with your decision.
