Does Sunny work as a full name?

My favourite name is [name_u]Sunny[/name_u], I think it works fine as a full name, but a lot of people don’t. If you don’t, what do you think of the name [name_f]Sonnet[/name_f]? I’m liking it more and more. Does [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] work as a nn for [name_f]Sonnet[/name_f]?

YES! And I love it!

I think I would dislike having the name [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] personally. Like if I’m having a rough day, or am depressed, I wouldn’t want to be called [name_u]Sunny[/name_u]. I guess it would work in the current name climate, if you love it. [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] and [name_f]Sonnet[/name_f] seem too different to me. Though I do love [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] for [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] or [name_f]Susan[/name_f]!

It does, but the spelling [name_u]Sonny[/name_u] would be more intuitive (although also more male). What about [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] as a nickname for [name_f]Sunniva[/name_f]?

I’ve met both men and women named [name_u]Sunny[/name_u]. I think it works.

I agree if [name_u]Sonny[/name_u] would work best for [name_f]Sonnet[/name_f]. Personally I love it as a nn for [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] and [name_f]Sunniva[/name_f].

I think [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] works as a full name, I would put it on the “different, but not weird” category. And both [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] and [name_u]Sonny[/name_u] are common pet names which makes them familiar names too. I actually really like the [name_f]Sonnet[/name_f] nn [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] idea. [name_f]Sonnet[/name_f] is a more unusual and “weird” name compared to [name_u]Sunny[/name_u], but it’s also more “grown up”. They complement each other nicely. Other ideas for full name are [name_f]Solana[/name_f] and Solaris - both names with meanings related to the sun and with “sol” in them (sol means sun in Portuguese and Spanish). A GP, but a great middle would be Sunrise.

Bump for more feedback!

Which do you love, [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] or [name_f]Sonnet[/name_f]?

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Sunny[/name_u]! I think it does work as a full name but [name_f]Sonnet[/name_f] is really sweet if you’re unsure and it does have the advantage of giving options.

Yep! I work with a lady called [name_u]Sunny[/name_u], that’s her full first name, and she wears it just fine.

Oh that’s encouraging! Does she ever speak about her name?

I love [name_u]Sunny[/name_u], but I’m not sure it works as a standalone name. I also really dislike [name_f]Sonnet[/name_f]. I love it as a nickname for [name_f]Sunniva[/name_f] though.
