Hi berries,
What is your imagery for Clara?
Have you met any of Clara in life? If yes, how old are they usually?
Hi berries,
What is your imagery for Clara?
Have you met any of Clara in life? If yes, how old are they usually?
Absolutely not!
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] is one of the sweetest names! I love its meaning. It makes me think about lights, snow and sparkle. [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is a timeless elegant name. It’s international and feminine. I gives me a peaceful and friendly vibe.
In my country, [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is actually really popular right now for children. I’ve only met one adult [name_f]Clara[/name_f] (I think! ). She’s in her 50’s, but when I met her, I thought her name sounded very fresh and gentle!
I haven’t met a [name_f]Clara[/name_f] but while it’s not one of my favourites (I don’t dislike it though), it would be cute on a baby and it would age well.
I’ve only ever met young Claras - aged 25 and under!
It feels bright, clear and warm to me - light and sparkly, but refined too
I’ve never met a [name_f]Clara[/name_f].
It doesn’t feel dated to me exactly, it feels more like one of those vintage names coming back into style, like [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], or [name_f]Lucy[/name_f].
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] is definitely not dated to me! The one I know is my age (a teen) and she is lovely, so I love this name. It’s got that vintage charm, but not dated!
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] is definitely not dated!
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] is one of my favourites (KLAARA pronunciation) she’s elegant, delicate, sparkly and has pretty Christmassy feel. I love [name_f]Clara[/name_f]! All the Clara’s I know are 30 and under.
No, [name_f]Clara[/name_f] feels as fresh and youthful as ever! I have never met one!
I’ve met a [name_f]Clara[/name_f] in my school who would be about 10-12 now! I think [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is a really pretty name. Gives off summer vibes for me!
I always think of [name_f]Clara[/name_f] from the ballet The Nutcracker! It’s the main character really in that show and it brings me back to that and [name_f]Christmas[/name_f] time. I’ve met one [name_f]Clara[/name_f] in real life. At the time she was 12 but she’d be about 16 now.
I’ve never met one, seems timeless to me
Not at all dated!
[name_f]My[/name_f] two cents as someone who struggles to shed early-century fustiness, even when names become popular again (i.e. [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Harriet[/name_f], & [name_f]Florence[/name_f] still sound slightly old-lady to me even though they are part of a current vintage revival trend and rising in popularity).
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] does not and has really never felt dated. It feels more like a timeless name, like [name_f]Julia[/name_f], [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], or [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]. A [name_f]Clara[/name_f] can be any age, although it has certainly gone through its trends of being more popular in certain eras. When I was about 13 I wrote a story with a character named [name_f]Clara[/name_f] and at the time I was really into “cool” names like [name_f]Athena[/name_f], [name_f]Yasmin[/name_f], [name_f]Skye[/name_f], etc. and very much eschewed “grandma” names. And it has only risen in popularity since, now sitting just outside the SSA top 100. For context, if you are 30 years old, names similar in popularity would include [name_f]Lindsay[/name_f], [name_f]Veronica[/name_f], and [name_f]Kristina[/name_f], which I’m sure sounded perfectly normal when you were growing up.
Not dated! I know three girls named [name_f]Clara[/name_f], ages 12, 11, and 5. It fits them all just right.
I don’t think I’ve ever met a [name_f]Clara[/name_f] and it doesn’t feel dated to me. The imagery i get is light purple and white, ballet and [name_f]Christmas[/name_f] (probably because of The Nutcraker), antique tea sets, and ruffled dresses with hairbows.
I think the Clah-ra pronunciation is dated and ugly, but the Claire-uh pronunciation is beautiful
I associate it with the Nutcracker story, so the imagery I get for [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is old/19th century wintery vibes. Delicate and elaborate decorations, warm hearths, and classical music.
I dont believe I’ve actually met a [name_f]Clara[/name_f], but I would expect to see it on either someone elderly, or a newborn. I don’t easily picture it on someone of another age, likely because it’s not very popular in my area to begin with. Because of that I find it to be a bit dated, but I think its time for revival could be very soon considering the rising popularity of similar names!
I actually know a [name_f]Clara[/name_f] who is 21 years old. I don’t think the name [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is at all dated.
I like [name_f]Clara[/name_f]! It doesn’t feel dated to me… I think [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_m]Barton[/name_m] is my strongest pop culture association, but it feels like now is her era.
I don’t really care for Claire-ah, I do like just [name_f]Claire[/name_f] best, but I love the international (KLAH rah) pronunciation. I sponsor a girl in [name_m]Brazil[/name_m] whose name is [name_f]Maria[/name_f] Clara; this is my strongest and favorite tie to the name. It’s very current, so international, and has ties to [name_f]Christmas[/name_f] and lots of historical figures… while I doubt I’d ever use [name_f]Clara[/name_f] myself (it would take a ton for me to choose [name_f]Clara[/name_f] over [name_f]Claire[/name_f], which is on my very short list), it has lots of sweet and lovely associations for me and I love how it is a bold, festive magenta with holly leaves and berries.
