Does the name Luna age well?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] All,

What are your thoughts on the name [name_f]Luna[/name_f] for an adult? Does this name age well? I do love it as a baby and child’s name but am a little unsure of it for an adult. Any comments and opinions are greatly appreciated. Thank you

I think so! To me it sounds romantic. I definitely see it as a fitting name for a young girl— maybe because it’s so popular for babies right now— but also an adult woman. If you think it sounds too cutesy for an adult though, that might be a bad sign.

I think it would age fine, it’s not too cutesy at all for me.

But if it’s a real problem for you maybe you could find a longer alternative such as [name_f]Luneth[/name_f] and use it as a nickname?

Hard to say. I have never known any adults with the name. In both the UK and the USA it was rare until the 2000s, meaning most people in those countries named [name_f]Luna[/name_f] are either teenagers or children. However, since the name has existed since ancient times I feel it would age better than a recently invented name like [name_f]Madisyn[/name_f] or [name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f].

I am called [name_f]Luna[/name_f]. I am 24 and it suits me extremely well so far.

I think it will age well.

No. The name [name_f]Luna[/name_f], as usual in my experience only, seems popular with teenagers and a go-to for fantasy novel characters. [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_f]IMO[/name_f] is fine on a cat, although rather overused at this point. I cringe when I hear it on a person, even on a young girl.
