Does this combo work at all?

[name]Clementine[/name] [name]Emerald[/name]

I love [name]Clementine[/name] and I love [name]Emerald[/name] but I don’t know if I love them together. I may just be overthinking it. I really really want it to work.

What do you think?

Thanks for your reply!

[name]Both[/name] are beautiful seperately, but together it’s too long and wordy. Something along the lines of [name]Molly[/name] [name]Emerald[/name] or [name]Clementine[/name] [name]Florence[/name] would be better.

As much as I love both names, I think together they are just too much. I would use a 1-2 syllable middle with [name]Clementine[/name]. I think first and middle names should compliment eachother and flow, instead of competing, which I feel these two names are doing.

[name]Clementine[/name] [name]Emerald[/name]

[name]Clementine[/name] is stunning, really light, feminine and elegant. [name]Clementine[/name] is a sweet choice and feels very citrus and rich. [name]Clementine[/name] does conjure up images of the fruit and the vibrant colour. I do also love the potential nicknames of [name]Clemency[/name] or [name]Clemmy[/name]. [name]Clementine[/name] is great. I also think [name]Emerald[/name] is lovely, and sleek. [name]Emerald[/name] is an intriguing choice. Yet she does project the strong colour of green like [name]Clementine[/name] conjures up the colour of orange. This does create a colour clash within the combination. [name]Emerald[/name] is also associated with the gem, and [name]Clementine[/name] with the fruit. I think because of this the associations and connotations are too strong for both names to be in the same combination. Have you thought of switching it up a little. For instance [name]Clemency[/name] [name]Emerald[/name] or [name]Clementine[/name] [name]Esmeralda[/name]??? These combinations are similar but don’t feel so overpowering.

Its a bit wordy and has a lot of syllables, making it kind of hard to say all at once. And I personally don’t like how [name]Clementine[/name] is a fruit and [name]Emerald[/name] is a gem, so a fruit gem? I like the names on their own, but not together is what I’m trying to say. But if you really love it, I think you could make it work.

[name]Emerald[/name] seems to get lost for some reason with Clementine which i think is a massive shame. [name]Emerald[/name] is so sumptuous, it needs a first name that helps it shine, if you’ll excuse the pun. I love Clementine, its in my own list, but it feels a bit too country for exotic Emerald. But saying that, if i saw a [name]Clementine[/name] [name]Emerald[/name] in the Birth Announcements, i’d think it was gorgeous and i’d be v happy.

What do you think of Cosima Emerald? Possible nicknames Mimi, Mia, Mima, Sia maybe? I love Cosima and, to me, it is as sophisticated and evocative as Emerald.

I very much prefer [name]Matilda[/name] with [name]Emerald[/name]. I like [name]Clementine[/name] [name]Ruby[/name] like in your signature. [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Emerald[/name] is so so pretty!!!

I’m not a fan. The contradictory imagery coupled with the repetition of the “em” sound at the beginning of both names just isn’t my favorite.

They don’t work well together, sorry!

They’re too much together. I also don’t like how one is a fruit and the other is a gem, plus there is the “color clash” issue as well, with [name]Clementine[/name] conjuring up an orange hue and [name]Emerald[/name] conjuring up a green one.

[name]Emerald[/name] has also never been a name I liked, though I do think it goes a lot better with [name]Matilda[/name] than with [name]Clementine[/name].

I agree that they are too much.

I do think [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Emerald[/name] and [name]Fiona[/name] [name]Clementine[/name], or any combination of those names ([name]Fiona[/name] [name]Emerald[/name] and [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Clementine[/name], [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Emerald[/name] and [name]Clementine[/name] [name]Fiona[/name], etc.) would be awesome sister names!

Thanks for all your replies. Sorry I just now responded, but 9 times out of 10 I log onto NB on my phone and the new design is not working well on mobile.

I agree with you all, really. I don’t think it’s the best combo, tho I love them separately. I can only hope and pray I get two girls so I can use all the names I love.

Thanks for your thoughtful responses!
