Does [name_m]Lowen[/name_m] [name_m]Olsen[/name_m] not work together as a first and surname?
I’m assuming the answer is no, I really struggle with our last name, drives me nuts with the vowel and l and -en ending - it eliminates so many good names! I also really love the sound, but I don’t love the visual of the repeated -en either.
Trying to work on our list. Thanks!
Have to be honest, saying it out loud, I didn’t mind it so much. Most times, you’re right, the repeating end sound would validate crossing this name off, but I think [name_m]Lowen[/name_m] [name_m]Olsen[/name_m] sounds fine.
As for the visual thing, I find the more I stare at combos I’m on the fence about, the more certain I become of whether I like it or not. Maybe stare at it a bit, or write it down a few times, and maybe that’ll sway you.
Secondarily, I just looked up alternative spellings of [name_m]Lowen[/name_m], and I’ll list what came up, Lowin, [name_f]Lowyn[/name_f], [name_m]Louan[/name_m], Loewen. [name_m]Not[/name_m] sure if those help at all, since they do feel less intuitive than [name_m]Lowen[/name_m], but I figured I’d mention them anyways.
Good luck
-Kit

I think the real issue here is that you don’t love how it looks – and that could be a bit of a block when it comes to really loving it as a name. @AcutePunubiris has a good suggestion of writing it out to see if it grows on you
I would say it’s usable with a distinctive middle. How often after they going to be referred to by their first and last name? Alternatively, if you like [name_m]Lowen[/name_m], may I suggest [name_m]Lorcan[/name_m]? [name_m]Lorcan[/name_m] [name_m]Olsen[/name_m] sounds great to me. [name_m]Larkin[/name_m] [name_m]Olsen[/name_m] or [name_m]Ennis[/name_m] [name_m]Olsen[/name_m] too are different options.
If you’re looking for a Cornish name alternative, what about: [name_m]Jowan[/name_m] [name_m]Olsen[/name_m], [name_m]Kitto[/name_m] [name_m]Olsen[/name_m], Mylor [name_m]Olsen[/name_m], Kernick [name_m]Olsen[/name_m], Kenwyn [name_m]Olsen[/name_m]. [name_m]Jory[/name_m] [name_m]Olsen[/name_m], [name_m]Taran[/name_m] [name_m]Olsen[/name_m].

I’m not the best but suggestions
I don’t love lowen with olsen…
I think it’s fine
[name_m]Lowen[/name_m] [name_m]Olsen[/name_m] is perfectly fine to me! Sound-wise there’s plenty of prominent names that have the same ending sounds, and they do just fine. [name_m]Owen[/name_m] [name_m]Wilson[/name_m] comes to mind, although it’s -en & -on, rather than -en & -en.
Some suggestions just in case:
[name_m]Lewis[/name_m]
[name_m]Ewan[/name_m]
[name_m]Rowan[/name_m]
[name_m]Dillon[/name_m]
Jo- names (Joseph, [name_m]Jonah[/name_m])
[name_m]Laurence[/name_m]
[name_m]Logan[/name_m]
[name_m]Edwin[/name_m]
[name_m]Robin[/name_m]
Honestly, yes, it works! Saying this aloud, I don’t get tripped up.
Repeated ending sounds are used in real life all the time. I don’t think anyone will bat an eye, so it depends on how much it bothers you personally.
