[name]Baby[/name] boy’s last name is Reichstein - which is pronounced “[name]Rike[/name]-stine”. I’m currently in love with the name [name]Paxton[/name], but I’m concerned it might be a bit much with the harsh “x” mixed with the harsh “k” sound of the last name. Thoughts? Other suggestions? It seems most of the names I end up loving may not go well with this last name.
(I considered [name]Peyton[/name] but my husband does not want to name his son after a [name]Manning[/name])
I don’t find it too harsh, but I find it kind of rhymey - the chs sequence in your name in English is probably quite close to x, and then the t and the n as well. It’s by no means bad though, but just rhymey enough to maybe not be ideal unless you and your husband really really love it (some people prefer rhymey names). What about…
I love [name]Paxton[/name] nn [name]Pax[/name]! When i say [name]Paxton[/name], I don’t say it with a hard X sound. The x is soft when I say it out loud. i might be saying it weirdly though. In any case, I don’t find the X in [name]Paxton[/name] and the hard sound in your last name to be too much. I think it sound great!
I think [name]Paxton[/name] sounds nice with your last name. I don’t find it harsh at all. I think it flows better with your LN than [name]Peyton[/name] would have. For the record when I pitched [name]Eli[/name] to DF he told me no son of his would be named after a [name]Manning[/name] either lol.
I agree that [name]Paxton[/name] Reichstein might be a bit too much. The “ks” sound in Reichstein sounds like the “x” in [name]Paxton[/name], which makes them sound too similar. Plus, the poor kid might feel like he was spitting on you when he said his name. That’s just my opinion, though.
Yeah, as much as I love it, I’m really not sure it flows off the tongue easily. Dang my husband and his silly last name! I have a few others up my sleeve. [name]Elliot[/name] has been hovering near the top for a while and that flows much better. Still not 100% on it, though.
