Does this happen to anyone else?

Do you ever feel like you can’t completely commit to a name because the middle name you want to use (or a variation) was originally paired with a different first on your list for the longest time? I don’t know if this makes any sense but here’s an example: I love the names Adela and Elodie. I’ve always thought of pairing them with a rose name. So either Adela Wildrose, Adela Rosamonde, or Elodie Wildrose. I love Adelaide Rose (possibly a different middle) too. I also love the name Rosalie and like Primrose. But I feel like those won’t be considered if I use Wildrose as a middle for this baby. Do you ever get so used to your list that you feel like if you don’t use the name combination you’ve had forever, you’re not choosing the right one?! Or like you’ve gotten attached to a name but when the time comes to pick a name, you want to explore other names? For instance, I’ve had Sylvie Belle on my list for about 3 years now and I’m not sure if I really really love it, or if I just feel like I should be committed to it because I’ve had it planned out for so long. Sorry for rambling haha just feel like I’m overthinking this!

YES! I was going to name my first son [name_u]Corey[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] but then thought to myself “But if I use [name_u]James[/name_u] now, if I have another son I can’t use [name_u]James[/name_u] anymore.” I ended up picking a different middle and taking the risk of not using [name_u]James[/name_u]. 3 years later, my son [name_u]James[/name_u] was born! If was a tough decision not to use [name_u]James[/name_u] in the first place, but it was all worth saving it for my second son since I can’t see him as any other name!

I know what you mean. I can’t imagine not using [name_f]Sarai[/name_f] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] together and it does feel a bit limiting sometimes.

I think it’s worth playing about with combos, without forcing yourself to commit to anything yet

I hear what you’re saying. [name_f]My[/name_f] approach is a little bit different, and I think it’s why my potential combos never sound as good as these beautifully thought out ones tbh. [name_f]My[/name_f] approach is to use names I would wish to use as firsts as middles (to use up all my very favourite names). Obviously I try to make them flow well with good rhythm syllable count etc is considered, but there’s barely any middles, save for a couple, that are designated middles only.

Yes! I’ll admit I’m not in love with the flow of [name_f]Josepha[/name_f] [name_f]Ermentrude[/name_f], but it has been on my list FOREVER and I can’t think either name paired with another name.
So you’re not weird  That happens to many people

This definitely happens! Is it even worth using Anya if I can’t have my Anya Cosette?!
