Does this middle name go?

So while I was due on [name]Sunday[/name] we are still not firm on a boy’s name.

I think we have decided, but I’m not sure that the middle dh likes goes:

[name]Finn[/name] [name]Edwin[/name] St. [name]Pierre[/name]

I’m reluctant to have both names ending in “n.”

My choice would be:

[name]Finn[/name] [name]Michael[/name] St. [name]Pierre[/name]

He fears it’s too “Irish” for a french last name, although I’ve been telling him [name]Michael[/name] is not Irish.

Our other middle choice is [name]Glenn[/name] but I know that [name]Finn[/name] [name]Glenn[/name] is just too redundant in sound.

Thoughts?

I do prefer [name]Finn[/name] [name]Michael[/name] to [name]Finn[/name] [name]Edwin[/name] or [name]Finn[/name] [name]Glenn[/name]. I think your instincts are correct about both names ending in “n”. Then again, middle names aren’t really used that often so maybe you should stick to a name you both can agree on. [name]Finn[/name] St. [name]Pierre[/name] is a really cool name!

I like [name]Finn[/name] [name]Michael[/name] more than [name]Finn[/name] [name]Edwin[/name], but [name]Finn[/name] [name]Edwin[/name] is not terrible. [name]Finn[/name] [name]Glenn[/name] is pretty bad. [name]Finn[/name] [name]Edwin[/name] sounds nice with your surname, though. I think either [name]Finn[/name] [name]Edwin[/name] and [name]Finn[/name] [name]Michael[/name] are both usable choices.

[name]Finn[/name] [name]Michael[/name] sounds the best, maybe [name]Finn[/name] [name]James[/name], or [name]Finn[/name] [name]Charles[/name]?

[name]Both[/name] are great, but have you thought of something less Irish but similar to [name]Edwin[/name]-- i.e. [name]Finn[/name] [name]Edmund[/name] St [name]Pierre[/name]?

I actually don’t think it matters at all if both names end in the N sound when one is a middle and one is a first (it’d be different if it were first name and last name) I think [name]Finn[/name] [name]Edwin[/name] is very handsome while [name]Finn[/name] [name]Michael[/name] is very boring to me.

I’ll second [name]Blade[/name] and ask, what about [name]Finn[/name] [name]Edmund[/name]? It’s very handsome and keeps the sound your DH wants.

[name]Finn[/name] [name]Edwin[/name] and [name]Finn[/name] [name]Michael[/name] are both great names. I agree that [name]Finn[/name] [name]Glenn[/name] doesn’t quite work… too much ‘nn’ in there, I’d say.

[name]Finn[/name] [name]Edmund[/name] is another fantastic option. Sounds very distinguished, flows beautifully with your surname and preserves the sound your husband likes.

Good luck!!!

Thanks for the input. [name]Finn[/name] [name]Edmund[/name] is nice…but [name]Edwin[/name] is a family name and that’s the main reason we are using it. Actually, all the middles are family names.

I think [name]Finn[/name] [name]Edwin[/name] St. [name]Pierre[/name] is nice with the syllable break up. 1-2-3

agree-- good choice!

I love both [name]Finn[/name] and [name]Edwin[/name], but not together, sorry! They rhyme (inn, in).
[name]Finn[/name] [name]Michael[/name] or [name]Edwin[/name] [name]Michael[/name] would both be fantastic.

Honestly, [name]Finn[/name], [name]Edwin[/name] and [name]Michael[/name] are all wonderful names, so which ever pair up you choose, you have made great choices. If the rhyme doesn’t bother you, you should go for it. I love that you’re choosing a name with meaning for your family.
