I’ve posted about this before, but still torn.
We have three girls, expecting number four. Our older daughters are [name_f]Tempe[/name_f] [name_f]Joann[/name_f], [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f], and [name_f]Juno[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]. For number four we are thinking of [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f].
I feel like [name_f]Tempe[/name_f] and [name_f]Juno[/name_f] go together great and [name_f]Helena[/name_f] and [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] as well, but do all four names make a cohesive set? Is there something better than [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] that would tie them all together?
Our other choice is [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], but we have really cooled off on that name. Besides that, we really have no ideas on girl names. I am open to opinions AND suggestions!
Hmm - I can see why you’re hesitating. I agree, [name_f]Helena[/name_f] and [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] go very well together, just like [name_f]Juno[/name_f] and [name_f]Tempe[/name_f] do, but all together they look slightly eclectic. [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] goes well style-wise with [name_f]Helena[/name_f] as well, and sound-wise it’s a nice match with [name_f]Juno[/name_f].
[name_f]Diana[/name_f] is a great mn for your sibset - it seems to unite features of each of your other daughters names, as well as being beautiful in its own right. With your other girls, you seem to have given a slightly unusual first name with a classical history, followed by a more conventional middle. Have you considered using [name_f]Diana[/name_f] as a first name? [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] would both be good middles for [name_f]Diana[/name_f].
What do you like about [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]? I’m having a hard time coming up with names that might be your style. Were there any names you almost chose for your other girls that you still like?
Here are some names you might like to consider:
[name_f]Cassandra[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] makes me think of
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
Lastly, just a word of reassurance - when your daughters make their own way in the world, their teachers, friends, and eventually colleagues will know them each by their individual names, so although it’s nice to have a cohesive sibset, bear in mind that it might be a little more important to choose stand-alone names you love.
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is very nice (and my favorite of the bunch), but I noticed a city/ place name trend. Perhaps [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] (in lieu of [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], it’s home state) or [name_u]Cheyenne[/name_u]?
I love your name choice, and my first reaction was to suggest a switch to [name_f]Diana[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], but then the set feels too match-y. I think you should keep it just the way it is.
I really don’t know what it is we like so much about [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]. It wasn’t even on our radar until a few weeks ago when we found out gender. We had been totally set on [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] for a girl until then.
As for the place names, that was unintentional and we are hoping to steer away from it. [name_f]Tempe[/name_f] is the only one actually named for a place, [name_f]Helena[/name_f] and [name_f]Juno[/name_f] are just names we like. All middle names are family names and we really don’t want to use [name_f]Diana[/name_f] as a first name (we don’t really like it besides it being DH’s grandma’s name)
I do agree, most people won’t know our kids as a “set” so maybe I should stop worrying about that and just go with what feels right.
I like [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] best with the siblings’ names.
I like it.
[name_f]Tempe[/name_f] [name_f]Joann[/name_f], [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f], [name_f]Juno[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], and [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f]. They sound wonderful, imo.
