Does this name flow?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] berries ”
So DH and I have finally somewhat settled on a baby girl name; [name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] (typical Scottish Mc lastname), and for a boy we are firm on [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] Fraiser. Would you say [name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] flows? Or maybe you have a good suggestion for a replacement name? I like the name as it is now but it just doesn’t make my heart flutter in the same way as [name_u]James[/name_u]’ does.
Help? :see_no_evil:

[name_u]James[/name_u]’ name totally flows. I would say [name_f]Isla[/name_f]’s name does not flow in the same way. That does not have to be a dealbreaker. Our son’s name didn’t flow 100% but we liked it for other reasons and now we don’t really think about that part anymore.

I think switching up the order to [name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] could help with the flow a bit, although then you’ll get some rhyminess between [name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], which also doesn’t have to be a dealbreaker.

If you love the name as it is, I think the flow can be negligible. But if you feel it’s not quite right yet, maybe there’s room to explore some more.

I like it. It doesn’t flow perfectly, I find the L in of the names makes it a little bit of a tongue twister. But it’s not awful and definitely not a dealbreaker.

It doesn’t flow no, I think it would flow a lot better as [name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], but that’s only to cancel out the repetitive L sounds with the other combination (LA LI for [name_f]IsLA[/name_f] [name_f]LYdia[/name_f] instead of LI LI for [name_f]RosaLIE[/name_f] [name_f]LYdia[/name_f]). I would personally get rid of either [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] because even with switching [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] around to avoid the repetitive LI LI sounds, you still have repetitive Ls, which are a tongue twister.

With all of that said, it isn’t a deal breaker, and if you love the names, use it. A person’s name is rarely said in full.

It doesn’t flow, but that doesn’t have to be a bad thing: Having a bit of a break between names/syllables can really help accentuate the best sounds. I love the subtle shared “l” between each of the names, and I think they sound wonderful together. Some other middles to consider if you’re looking to alter the flow might be [name_f]Lyra[/name_f], [name_f]Celia[/name_f], and [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosemarie[/name_f].

All the names are beautiful but unfortunately are quite jumbled when together

I’m not sure I think it’s all the same similar Ls that I’m hung up on here

Isla Jolie Rose

[name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is very pretty and I do quite like it. There is a small clunk because each name starts with such an emphatic sound. However, the overall charm of the name makes the clunk excusable, if you really love it.

Amazing suggestions!! Beautiful!
