Does this name pairing ring a bell?

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any association that comes to mind with these name combinations:

[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_f]Gwen[/name_f]

[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_f]Celeste[/name_f]

Thanks in advance

[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] — I immediately think of [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f]. [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_f]Celeste[/name_f]—no associations, though the pairing sounds familiar for some reason.

I feel exactly the same about both pairs as the pp.

I do like all 3 names though!

[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_f]Gwen[/name_f]- no association I think about offhand

[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_f]Celeste[/name_f]- both characters in the children’s book about an elephant named Babar, so I thought of that when I heard the names, but it’s not a bad or strong association at all

[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] - how sweet! It’s a subtle subtle Babar reference… I love it.

No associations at all

The first pairing definitely gave me the [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] vibe. The second I have no associations, but the sibset sounds lovely.

Thanks for the replies! I wanted to see how obvious the connections were. [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is our chosen boy name from before our first daughter was born, and I am trying to find a girl name that goes with it. I only came across the [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] connection when reading the names on nameberry, probably too weird of a connection to be siblings… The Babar connection might be less obvious, but still obvious to many people. I don’t think I’m willing to change our boys name though so it’s back to the drawing board…

[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] is an immediate “I’m back in Camelot” moment for me. Very much reminds me of [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and his [name_f]Queen[/name_f] [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f].

[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] are characters in the cartoon Babar, are they not?

If I had to pick one, I think [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] would be my favourites!

I thought of Babar

[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] makes me think of [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f]. I didn’t know what Babar was until I googled it.

[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] definitely brings to mind [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_f]Queen[/name_f] [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] for me. I didn’t know the Babar association with [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_f]Celeste[/name_f]- I’ve heard of the show but never really watched it, nor do I have kids who watch it.

Like PPs said [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] did make me think of [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]. And [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] are siblings in Babar, I loved the movie when I was younger. I don’t think either one is really a reason to not use the sibset though. [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is probably the most widely known of the two, but even then her name is [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], not [name_f]Gwen[/name_f].

I don’t know much about the [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] story but he and [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] were married, so I think that may make it a bit weird. At least [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and celeste in Babar are siblings (although when put to my husband his comment was “[name_f]Celeste[/name_f] sounds like incest” so now I think that one’s out, ugh)

[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] immediately brings to mind the Arthurian legend, but I didn’t recognize [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] as being from Babar at all. I think I read the book as a kid, though. [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] is my favourite of the two; it’s quite beautiful.

[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] does sound somewhat like [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f]. I wouldn’t have made any connection between [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] though. I’m not familiar with the Babar series.
