Does this name remind you too much of the Trump family?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]!
So I’ve been trying to decide between the spelling [name_f]Ivana[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivanna[/name_f] for a few days now. I kind of prefer the second spelling, which is [name_f]Ivanna[/name_f], but are afraid that maybe [name_f]Ivana[/name_f] is the “right” spelling, and people will misspell her name all the time.
So what do you guys think? Which spelling? And please tell me WHY!

I prefer the [name_f]Ivanna[/name_f] spelling, though it does remind me a lot of the Trump family…I think I’d be able to get over it if I met an [name_f]Ivanna[/name_f]/[name_f]Ivana[/name_f] though

The name actually reminds me of [name_u]London[/name_u]’s dog from The Suite Life of [name_m]Zack[/name_m] and [name_u]Cody[/name_u] but that might be a reference specific to people around my age. I tend to prefer the [name_f]Ivana[/name_f] spelling because I might say [name_f]Ivanna[/name_f] like eev-[name_f]ANN[/name_f]-uh instead of eev-AHN-uh. I don’t think [name_f]Ivanna[/name_f] would be difficult to live with though. I think the name is uncommon enough that people may ask how to spell it either way.

No I don’t think I would think about it unless you said so, but I’m not American though

No, it reminds me of a vampire saying “I wanna” lol. [name_f]Ivanka[/name_f] would definitely remind me of the Trump family. I like [name_f]Ivanna[/name_f] looks a little bit better in my opinion.

Agree with everything [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] said here.

[name_f]Ivana[/name_f]/[name_f]Ivanna[/name_f] reminds me of [name_f]Ivana[/name_f] Baquero, an actress. I don’t associate the name with [name_f]Ivanka[/name_f] Trump.
I prefer the spelling [name_f]Ivana[/name_f], it’s simpler.
There’s the option of Evana/[name_f]Evanna[/name_f] which is also cute.

I grew up with an [name_f]Ivana[/name_f], and it’s a lovely name. [name_f]Ivanka[/name_f] is irreversibly Trump, but I think [name_f]Ivana[/name_f] is usable.

it would be usable, but if you are worried you might like the name [name_f]Ilana[/name_f] or [name_f]Alana[/name_f]

According to Behind the Name both spellings are legitimate. I’m not American so won’t comment regarding the Trump association. However I would expect an [name_f]Ivana[/name_f] to be of Slavic origin.

Sorry it does make me think of the Trumps. That is probably because I really like the name Ivanka and don’t like toning down- I rather use something completely different. Of course Ivanka mum was an Ivana, but they are divorced so that helps That be said I wouldn’t assume ivana’s parents were Trump fans at the same level as I would assume Reagan’s parents really loved Ronald Reagan…and I prefer the Ivana spelling

I’d immediately think that the parents are trump fans if I met someone named [name_f]Ivana[/name_f] Also I think some commenters here don’t realize that [name_f]Ivana[/name_f] is trump’s ex wife an ivanka’s mother, so it’s not just ivanka that can be associated with the name.

I know a girl named [name_f]Melania[/name_f], and only recently, had I realized that her name was that of Trump’s current wife. I knew her before he was the president of the United States though. However, since a child would now be born into/past the Trump presidency, I think that the name association with the Trump family would be stronger. I also like [name_f]Ivana[/name_f] more, I prefer names to end with ‘ana’ rather than ‘anna.’

I prefer [name_f]Evanna[/name_f], but that’s because what stands out to me about [name_f]Ivana[/name_f]/[name_f]Ivanna[/name_f]/[name_f]Ivanka[/name_f] is [name_m]IVAN[/name_m] & that bring to mind [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] the Terrible.

Perhaps [name_f]Yvonne[/name_f]?

I like [name_f]Ivana[/name_f] more than [name_f]Ivanna[/name_f], it just looks a bit better. I wouldn’t say the association is that strong. It’s his ex, after all. Besides, I can’t rememeber the names of [name_m]Obama[/name_m]’s daughters, and have no idea about [name_m]Bush[/name_m]’s family, so I don’t think any association will last that long after trump is no longer president.
