Does this sound clunky?

I’ve been really interested in names since I was about 14, I sort of lost interest for a little bit in my later teens, but now that I’m older I’m working on making new and refreshing name lists!

[name]Mabel[/name] has been my favourite name for a long time, and I’m really hoping I get to use it if me and OH ever have a daughter, so I’ve been trying to come up with some combos for it. I want it to have two middle names and would like to honour my mother and paternal grandmother. My mother’s name is [name]Patricia[/name], no middle name and my grandmother’s name was [name]Emma[/name] which I don’t particularly care for so I was intending to use one of her middle names - [name]Ellen[/name].

Something bothers me about the combination - [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Patricia[/name] [name]Ellen[/name] (Surname would be 2 syllables, beginning with M and ending in a -lee sound). What do you think? I always thought [name]Mabel[/name] should perhaps be paired with some more spunky middle names, and I’m sort of torn between that and honouring people.

Other names on my new (very incomplete!) list of favourites are: [name]Annabel[/name], [name]Scarlett[/name], [name]Isla[/name], [name]Olivia[/name], [name]Wren[/name], [name]Eden[/name], [name]Matilda[/name], [name]Emmeline[/name], [name]Rose[/name], [name]Beatrix[/name]/[name]Beatrice[/name], [name]Imogen[/name], [name]Ottilie[/name], [name]Josephine[/name], [name]Eloise[/name], [name]Phoebe[/name], [name]Juliet[/name], [name]Rose[/name], [name]Juniper[/name], [name]Clara[/name], [name]Madeleine[/name], [name]Nora[/name], [name]Anastasia[/name], [name]Caroline[/name], [name]Lorelei[/name], [name]Lucinda[/name], [name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Ruby[/name], [name]Lola[/name], [name]Gretchen[/name], [name]Claudia[/name], [name]Clemency[/name]/[name]Clementine[/name].

Would greatly appreciate people’s opinions and any name combinations! Please feel free to suggest names not on my list as it is very incomplete and I’m definitely open to discovering new names to be added to it.

With [name]Patricia[/name] [name]Ellen[/name], I think [name]Mabel[/name] is too clunky.

However…
[name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Patricia[/name] [name]Ellen[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] [name]Patricia[/name] [name]Ellen[/name]
[name]Wren[/name] [name]Patricia[/name] [name]Ellen[/name]
[name]Phoebe[/name] [name]Ellen[/name] [name]Patricia[/name]
[name]Clara[/name] [name]Patricia[/name] [name]Ellen[/name]
[name]Rose[/name] [name]Ellen[/name] [name]Patricia[/name]
[name]Cecily[/name] [name]Patricia[/name] [name]Ellen[/name]
[name]Iris[/name] [name]Ellen[/name] [name]Patricia[/name]
[name]Cora[/name] [name]Patricia[/name] [name]Ellen[/name]
[name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Ellen[/name] [name]Patricia[/name]
[name]Willow[/name] [name]Patricia[/name] [name]Ellen[/name]
[name]Alice[/name] [name]Patricia[/name] [name]Ellen[/name]
[name]June[/name] [name]Ellen[/name] [name]Patricia[/name]…
sound lovely.

You should probably use [name]Mabel[/name] since you’ve held onto it so long. This combo is heavy, and I say that hesitantly because I like the meaning behind the whole combo.

That is why I would suggest - [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Patrice[/name] [name]Elaina[/name], [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Patrice[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] or [name]Elle[/name] [name]Patricia[/name] [name]Mabel[/name] or [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Emma[/name] [name]Patrice[/name] — Those are more interesting [name]IMO[/name] I love the mn combo [name]Elle[/name] [name]Patrice[/name] but it doesn’t flow with -el ending on [name]Mabel[/name] :frowning:
[name]Mabel[/name] [name]Gretchen[/name] [name]Patricia[/name], [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Elle[/name] [name]Patrice[/name], [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Juniper[/name] [name]Ellen[/name], [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Elaina[/name]

Maybe [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Ellen[/name] [name]Patrice[/name]? I know people often frown upon names having the same syllable count throughout, but in this case I like it.

Thanks for the input everyone

Thanks for your suggestions, I do think they work better with the middle names than [name]Mabel[/name] does.

I am very attached to it, it all depends on OH agreeing to it though! I agree that it does sound very heavy with the middle names which is a shame really, really wish my mum had a middle name.

I like your suggestions, using a similar name to honour them could definitely work, thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion, I like it

Is [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Ellen[/name] too much with the double “el” sounds together? Or do you berries think it works?

[name]Amabel[/name] [name]Patrice[/name]
[name]Mabel[/name] [name]Emmaline[/name] (you could even do [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Patricia[/name] [name]Emmaline[/name])
[name]Mabry[/name] [name]Patricia[/name] [name]Ellen[/name]
[name]Amalie[/name] [name]Patrice[/name] [name]Ellen[/name]

Honestly, I would say [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name], I think that’s lovely. I know someone named [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Mabry[/name], and I think that’s very nice as well

I adore the name [name]Amabel[/name], but I feel like she would spend her whole life mistakenly being called [name]Anabel[/name] :frowning:

Thanks for the suggestion!
