Does this work for an honor name?

note that I am nowhere near ready to have kids.

so me and my mom are like tweedle dumb and tweedle dumber, and I’ve always said one of my future daughter’s will have a name to honor my mom. now here’s the thing, I don’t really like my moms name, it’s [name_f]Leanne[/name_f], and it just feels quite dated to me, and I don’t even like her middle name because it’s the name of a bird and I hate all birds except the exotic kind.

my moms favorite book is Milly-Molly-Mandy so I was thinking of using the name [name_f]Milly[/name_f] as an honor name for my mom, I love the name and it goes with the other names I have planned for my kids. do you think it would be a good honor name or is a bit of a stretch?

I think it largely depends on your Mom - would she see [name_f]Milly[/name_f] as an honor name (and feel the related feelings) or a bit of a stretch?

Other possibilities:

[name_f]Leah[/name_f]
[name_f]Annie[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] (from [name_f]Leanne[/name_f] definition “lion man”)
[name_f]Leontine[/name_f]
[name_f]Leona[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonora[/name_f] (not technically related but looks like it!)
[name_u]Ariel[/name_u]
[name_f]Birdie[/name_f] (for her middle, prob only as a middle)

I would otherwise use something related to her birth stone, birth month, distinct features (eg [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] for eyes) etc. But again, it’s really up to how long she’s loved the book, how long you’ve known this, and how both of you would feel - forced or a winner!?

it reminds her of my [name_u]Nana[/name_u], they used to read the books together so it kind of has a family connection, my mom loves the name [name_f]Milly[/name_f] and has often said she would have loved to name a daughter [name_f]Milly[/name_f]. it also would honor my great-grandmother, [name_f]Camila[/name_f],

With those connections including the name [name_f]Camila[/name_f], sounds like a go-er! (I personally really like [name_f]Camilla[/name_f] nn Millie).

I like it! Works for me - plus, you, or your mum, would be able to share the book and story of her name in the future which is sweet!!

100% it’s the ideal honour name!

Also, I love those books too! I used to look like Milly Molly Mandy with my little bowl cut, so cute
