Does this work or is it reaching?

We legitimately can’t decide between 2 names. [name_f]Eliora[/name_f] and [name_f]Elora[/name_f]. So close and yet…

I’m not a nickname person and we have tried to chose names that usually don’t lend an easy one, but not this one.

Would it be crazy to use [name_f]Eliora[/name_f] on the birth certificate and “nickname” her [name_f]Elora[/name_f] or is that just ridiculous?

I don’t think it’s ridiculous. If you’re always going to call her [name_f]Elora[/name_f], I would just put [name_f]Elora[/name_f] on the birth certificate rather than [name_f]Eliora[/name_f]. But if you love both and really can’t decide, I think it makes sense to use [name_f]Eliora[/name_f] ‘Elora’ so you have both options.

If it helps, I can definitely picture someone saying that “my name is [name_f]Eliora[/name_f], but I just go by [name_f]Elora[/name_f] without the i” and it doesn’t seem strange.

I don’t think it’s ridiculous, but I feel like if you’re going to call her [name_f]Elora[/name_f], I’d put that on the both certificate

I don’t think it’s ridiculous, but I can’t really see why you would do that. [name_f]Elora[/name_f] isn’t a nickname or shortening anyway. I’d just name her [name_f]Elora[/name_f].

I agree with the previous posters. Personally [name_f]Elora[/name_f] just doesn’t feel nickname-y at all to me if I’m being honest. I’d go with [name_f]Elora[/name_f] if you’d be calling her that either way
They’re both pretty but [name_f]Elora[/name_f] is just gorgeous :sparkles:
