My daughter is [name]Elle[/name] and my son is [name]Grant[/name]. Does [name]Vivian[/name] sound awful with their names? Honest opinions please! Thank you!
No, not at all!! The only thing I’d be concerned about is in that movie with [name]Reese[/name] Witherspoon, I forgot the name, she was [name]Elle[/name] and her best friend was [name]Vivian[/name]. So that might not matter to you, but that was the first thing that came to my mind. BTW, [name]Elle[/name] and [name]Vivian[/name] are on my list!! They’re awesome names!
I don’t see why you think it would sound awful? I think it fits in really well!
I love [name]Elle[/name], [name]Grant[/name], and [name]Vivian[/name] together! I think they work together very well.
[name]Vivian[/name] sounds lovely with [name]Elle[/name] and [name]Grant[/name].
Great sibset in my opinion!!
My concern was going from two one syllable names to a longer name. Thanks for all your help!
I’m going to go against the trend here and say I don’t love it. [name]Vivian[/name] and [name]Elle[/name], lovely. [name]Vivian[/name] and [name]Grant[/name], also lovely. But all three together?.. um it’s OK, but I do feel like it should be a 1 or 2 syllable name. Unless you’re planning on having a fourth, as another multi-syllable name would help balance out the set.
Well I’ll disagree
I find [name]Vivian[/name] stuffy/too serious next to [name]Elle[/name] and [name]Grant[/name]
[name]Vivian[/name] and [name]Elle[/name] were enemies. [name]Elle[/name]'s boyfriend dumped her and promptly got engaged to [name]Vivian[/name]
[name]Elle[/name], [name]Grant[/name], and [name]Vivian[/name] are fine together. [name]Do[/name] not let a silly movie deter you from using [name]Elle[/name] and [name]Vivian[/name] as sisters.
Am I the only one that thinks [name]Vivien[/name] [name]Leigh[/name] and [name]Cary[/name] [name]Grant[/name] when I see [name]Grant[/name] and [name]Vivian[/name] together?
I see two things: (1) [name]Vivian[/name] is three-syllables long while [name]Elle[/name] and [name]Grant[/name] are only one-syllable names; and (2) [name]Vivian[/name] is “vintage” in style than the other two which are more contemporary (one mainly a nickname and the other a surname). Neither of these issues should be a deal-breaker if you love the name!
i also disagree…[name]Vivian[/name] does sound stuffy
I see it! I have no idea if they’ve done movies together, but it’s a cool connection!
I think that [name]Elle[/name], [name]Grant[/name], and [name]Vivian[/name] are fine together. I’ve never seen Legally Blonde, so I wouldn’t get that reference, plus they sound sweet together.
- [name]Athena[/name]
i would not worry about the movie at all, i think it is not a commonly known/recognized reference. also i think they sound fine - i think worrying about the syllables is not necessary if you really like the names. if you are on the fence about vivan as a name maybe you could find something different but i would not throw it out for this reason
