I like the name Zissel but I’m not exactly sure how to pronounce it. [name_m]How[/name_m] would you pronounce it? Is it wrong for it to rhyme with [name_f]Liesel[/name_f]?
I’ve never heard of the name but I’d say it like “sizzle” but with the S and Z switched.
I would not rhyme it with [name_f]Liesl[/name_f]. I live in the same place you do, so I feel confident saying that would not be used around here.
Zissel: Zih-sul
[name_f]Liesl[/name_f]: [name_u]Lee[/name_u]-sul, sorta rhymes with diesel
any more opinions? The Hebrew reads Zi as Z and then a long E sound as in “eat”.
I would rhyme Zissel with [name_f]Liesel[/name_f], but I wouldn’t be surprised if Zissel rhymed with [name_m]Cecil[/name_m].
I would say it zay-sul going by the pronunciation audios given by PP.
