I’m not sure it would be very easy for a boy to wear [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] as a name. Maybe you can change it up a little…Dorthian, Dorther, Dorthan…totally made up names, but if looking for an honor name, maybe?
I’d suggest asking your male friends and relatives if they would be happy to be named [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]. Would they love their name and feel confident about it? I’m all for unisex names, but [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] has always been a feminine name so I can’t see it working for a boy.

I think the pronunciation could work, but I don’t think it’s usable for a boy. It’s too much of a classic name that I can’t see it “switching sides” like a lot of the newer names.
