We’re planning on using the name [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] for our upcoming arrival. I’ve been leaning towards [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] as the middle name for quite a while but something keeps pulling me to [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. [name_f]Any[/name_f] thoughts? I’ve also loved [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] for a long time but I’m a little worried about the avalanche of [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] names, even if we’re only considering it for the middle.
I prefer [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f], but you really can’t go wrong.
Two wonderful choices
but I do slightly prefer [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]!
I prefer [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f], but [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is lovely too!
I don’t think you need to worry about all the El- names as [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is in the middle spot and feels timeless paired with [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f].
I like the flow of [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] ![]()
[name_m]Dorthy[/name_m] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]
Prefer [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f], she has more personality ![]()
Both are gorgeous, but I’m partial to [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] ![]()
In general I prefer [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] to [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f], but [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] feels perfect!
I love [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]! [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] really appeals to me such a beautiful classic choice ![]()
I prefer [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. Paired with [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f], [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] just feels too clunky to me.
I know exactly what you mean but I find the clunkiness endearing - definitely doesn’t help my dilemma ![]()
I like [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f].
i lovee dorothy!!! i think i would go for dorothy wilhelmina.
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is lighter, flowier and is more current vintage revival pick.
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] feels much more old-fashioned to me, a little stuffier. So maybe it depends which vibe you prefer
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is my favorite! It’s a wonderful name. [name_f]Truly[/name_f] lovely. It flows so well!
[name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] is more unexpected, however, I prefer [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] over [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]. In my opinion, [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] feels quite heavy, whereas [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] sounds gentler and more contemporary.
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] is gorgeous!
Definitely [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]. And I adore the name [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], but [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]:
a. flows better
b. doesn’t repeat the ‘or’ sound
c. is less expected/popular
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps. ![]()
Besides the classic v clunky choice, much depends on your last name.
Eg Dorothy Eleanor McKenzie better than Dorothy Wilhelmina McKenzie but Dorothy Wilhelmina Stark marginally better than with Eleanor.
But I personally would go a third option: eg Dorothy Helena, Dorothy Leonor, Dorothy Lenora, Dorothy Leonora, Dorothy Wilhelmine or as a wildcard: Dorothy Willavere.
