Double Barreled Names?

[name_m]Even[/name_m] though I am not from the American South, I recently have grown on the idea of double barreled (or hyphenated) names for girls. Particularly, I would like to use the name [name_f]Anne[/name_f]. I need suggestions to go with it. I prefer unpopular but realistic names, often with a vintage touch. You can get ideas of the kinds of name style I have from the names in my signature.

What are your opinions of double barreled names? What would go well hyphenated with [name_f]Anne[/name_f]?

Thanks!

I love double barrelled names;

I’ve always loved [name_f]Annemarie[/name_f] w/o the hyphen but [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Marie[/name_f] works too.

I love double-barrelled names! I live in the southern US and it’s a traditional style here. [name_f]Anne[/name_f] is a great name to use, but I’m going to include some [name_f]Anna[/name_f] variations as well.

[name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Margaret[/name_f]
[name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Katherine[/name_f]
[name_u]Lou[/name_u]-[name_f]Anne[/name_f]
[name_u]Abby[/name_u]-[name_f]Anne[/name_f]
[name_f]Laura[/name_f]-[name_f]Anne[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]-[name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]-[name_u]Sloane[/name_u]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]-[name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]-[name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]-[name_u]Reese[/name_u]

And, here are just a few of my favorite double names:
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] (NN [name_m]Mack[/name_m])
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_u]Sloane[/name_u]
[name_f]Della[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Millie[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]

[name_f]Anne[/name_f] is very common to see as the latter half of a doublebarreled name, so I think using it instead as the former keeps the overall concept fresher.

[name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
[name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Adele[/name_f]
[name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Camille[/name_f]
[name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Marit[/name_f] (ma-[name_f]REET[/name_f])
[name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Jordana[/name_f] (jor-DAH-na)
[name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Sylvana[/name_f]
[name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Delphine[/name_f]
[name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Cosette[/name_f]
[name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Noelle[/name_f]

Back in grade school, I was friends with a girl named [name_u]Harley[/name_u]-[name_f]Ann[/name_f] ([name_f]Anne[/name_f]?). Everyone usually just called her [name_u]Harley[/name_u], but I’ve always thought that was cute.

Anyways, here’s a few ideas:
[name_f]Amelie[/name_f]-[name_f]Anne[/name_f]
[name_f]Bonnie[/name_f]-[name_f]Anne[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]-[name_f]Anne[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]-[name_f]Anne[/name_f]
[name_u]Julie[/name_u]-[name_f]Anne[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f]-[name_f]Anne[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]-[name_f]Anne[/name_f] / [name_f]Maybelle[/name_f]-[name_f]Anne[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]-[name_f]Anne[/name_f]
[name_f]Opal[/name_f]-[name_f]Anne[/name_f]

[name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_u]Simone[/name_u]

[name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Therese[/name_f] (pronounced Te [name_f]Rez[/name_f])

Not long ago I met a little [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_u]Adair[/name_u]. Thought it was an amazing name.

If you want to use is as a double name, try [name_f]Anna[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Anne[/name_f] because it works with almost anything.
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]-[name_f]Margo[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]-[name_u]Jean[/name_u]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]-[name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]-[name_u]Vivian[/name_u]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]-[name_u]Lisa[/name_u]
