Double First Name

[name_m]Just[/name_m] checking ALL THE THINGS before going through with the change. For a double barrel name, is the second name more emphasized when spoken aloud or the first name? What sounds “louder” Ex: Summer-Faith/ Faith-Summer or Ivy-Faith/Faith-Ivy. To me it sounds like the second part of the name has the most stress on it. What about you?

[name_f]My[/name_f] concern is, that if I make the second part of the name “Faith” it will have the potential to be dropped, but the sound will definitely highlight [name_f]Faith[/name_f] when it’s the 2nd name. Overall I think people have a tendency to drop the 2nd part of the name. Am I right? What has your experience been?

For me, it’s usually the first name that stands out most - but I guess it depends on whether the second name is quite distinctive.

Summer-Faith → Faith stands out more

Faith-Summer → Faith stands out more

Ivy-Faith → Ivy stands out more

Faith-Ivy - Faith stands out most

Yes, that’s been my experience - most of the people with double names I’ve met only go by the first part - sometimes it’s only when I’ve seen their name written down ‘officially’ have I discovered they had a double name.
This hasn’t been the case every time, just more often than not.

Yes, second part overwhelmingly gets dropped to the point where there’s little-no point.
