I prefer no hyphen. Some of my double barrel [name_f]Mary[/name_f] names are:
mary alice
mary willis
mary opal
mary beau
mary lark
Love Mary Claire! I prefer a hyphen in general (because I have two last names that aren’t legally hyphenated and it drives me mad! I want the hyphen!). Just not going to put a hyphen in these names because then they all get greyed out and don’t look as cute!
More ideas…
Mary Jane
Mary Louise
Mary May
Mary Catherine / Katherine
Mary Anna
Mary Mabel
Mary Rose
Mary Maeve
Mary Eloise
Mary Sarah
Mary Grace

[name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_u]Jo[/name_u]
Mary Aster, Mary Blair and Mary Lark also spring to mind! I like unexpected, more androgynous names paired with classic Mary and also prefer no hyphen.
I love [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] (also Rosemary)

This is a lovely question, I’ve found that throughout history so many woman have been given the name Mary… And many actually went, in day to day life, by a second first or a middle name… [name_u]Or[/name_u] a double first… While you do still see [name_f]Mary[/name_f] showing up in this new generation, it’s nothing like previous generations. That said… A double name with [name_f]Mary[/name_f] is typically accepted at face value such that you can get away without using a hyphen of course and decide if you even want a space in between. [name_f]Maryellen[/name_f], [name_f]Maryanne[/name_f], [name_f]Marybelle[/name_f], Marybeth… All acceptably just written right out together. And with a double name [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] & [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] & [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] are typically now underappreciated classics that are quite do for a resurgence in popularity! I would avoid anything longer than 3 syllables, probably avoid a second M name or anything ending in a repeating -ee sound. Perhaps seek a classic name that you might not use on its own but that feels fresh along side the always classic [name_f]Mary[/name_f], though something like [name_f]Helen[/name_f], [name_f]Diane[/name_f], Tamsin… All could work but do feel heavier than names people find they recognize along side [name_f]Mary[/name_f]. I might recommend you do avoid anything that sounds like a surname as well… As with double names you run the risk of people assuming the child’s full name is being called. [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_u]Addison[/name_u] for example, quite pretty but it feels quite full. [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] or [name_f]Mary[/name_f] Forrest… They feel like surnames in double names, keep an eye on that. I quite like the simplicity of [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_u]Anne[/name_u] or [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Anna[/name_f] so I will suggest personally along those lines, and again I don’t particularly like them with a hyphen and don’t believe it would cause any level of issue with these names in daily life.
