I prefer the sound and look of [name]Ottavio[/name] myself. I love the classic [name]Roman[/name] names of [name]Octavius[/name] and [name]Octavian[/name] so [name]Ottavio[/name] appeals to me. I always thought that [name]Orazio[/name] was pronounced more like “o-raht-zee-o” (there’s a “t” in there). I love [name]Horatio[/name] but not [name]Horace[/name] or [name]Orazio[/name].
I prefer [name]Orazio[/name] because I think you’ll get [name]Octavio[/name] a lot with [name]Ottavio[/name]. And I like the options for [name]Razi[/name], [name]Raz[/name], [name]Rio[/name], etc.
For me, it comes down to the meaning. [name]Orazio[/name] means time or timekeeper, whereas [name]Ottavio[/name] means eighth. Unless this is your eighth child, I feel that the meaning of [name]Orazio[/name] is much more significant.
